Hi guys

So after looking at the lex tek on the wiki here i read a massive warning above the tek:

Warning: DO NOT USE THIS TEK FOR ACACIA EXTRACTION!.

Ohh k this leaves me udderly confused and have tried re researching acacia extraction but cant find any solid teks? the next best this would have to be Elfspice's Compleat Acacia Extraction Guide but i look and it was last updated in 2003

Is there anything recent?

are you using acacia confusa root bark?
Nope Acuminata Phyllodes and twigs

have used the lex tek v1 successfully but shellite sucks and the warning is now steering me away from this tek.

I dont understand how there isn't an updated acacia extraction tek?

Is it? if it is then the warning needs to be restated because all it says right now is:
Warning: DO NOT USE THIS TEK FOR ACACIA EXTRACTION!.

Either a typo or fuck knows im getting more and more lost as i search.

Surely someone knows why this warning has been smeared across the top of the tek?

I really do appreciate any help Smokey :)

Well after some research i have come to believe that the lextek is just a crappy tek for acacia ext

1. It uses far too much vinegar

2. Uses far too much Lye

3. Uses Shellite

apart from these errors could this tek not be corrected?

ie. i have redefined how much vinegar is needed to reach 4.0

I have also determined you only need enough lye to reach a ph of 13

Also think Xylene could be a possible substitute for shellite, just means no freeze percip and will have to evap.

Could i follow the lex with the modified instructions?

Or do you know of another tek i could follow after doing my acid cook?

Any help is appreciated

Heres a link to my extraction. read over the thread as a few of us in it are going the same way and seem to be getting good results.

A. Confusa Plan - FAQ - All your basic questions and answers - Welcome to the DMT-Nexus

Basically doing a modified lextek a/b.
dropped out the defat steps, using Vm&p as solvent, adding vodka in the presoak.

mainly adjust ph as needed with a meter or strips insted of adding a certain amount. should take care of the too much lye issues and such.

Yes exactly what i was chasing you bloody legend you!

Basically i have already done my acid cooks following lextek am now reducing so i never got a chance to try and presoak with vodka, although i kept all my plant material in a hdpe container with some acidic solution to try keep it from getting moldy. I'm thinking i should proceed without the vodka soak and see if i can extract any goodies and if not ill turn back to my material and start with this modified lextek. I have had success with the lextek but only had miserable failure when i tried the newer 2.0 version using phosphoric acid ect

You can proceed with what you got. Vodka does help yeilds but im not sure how you could add it at this point.. What you have will work, my first run went that way.
Yeah cheers man. I will proceed then and add alcohol to the soak next time.
