I'll go into the details of the brewing process after SWIM tries the brew.
But, in a couple of lines:
SWIM started with pre-powdered Caapi vines (1 lb) and brewed for 12-15 hours over the course of a 3 days. SWIM lost almost 3/4th while reducing as there were lots of tiny particulates that escaped my filter. It was a BIG BIG pain in the A. The cheese cloth was constantly clogged by of the tiny bits of powdered caapi.
Finally SWIM has a brew, which SWIM guesses is from from around 100 grams of caapi (guestimate as SWIM doesn't really know how much got spilt during the boiling process). But it's not very watery and clear and still looks and feels muddy with some powdered caapi still in it. SWIM tried very hard but couldn't get them filtered out.
SWIM is going to drink half of the brew anyways.
Please, pretty please, let me know if it is dangerous to drink the goo/caapi particles. It's also a little difficult to down it as it's more like a not-very-thick milkshake ans is also not very great tasting as it stick everywhere in the mouth and throat. But, if there is no real danger then no biggie, could be chased down with some of the leftover distilled water.
Thank you.
