Advice needed - extracting bottle

The first few times I've done extractions using Cyb's hybrid ATB salt tek and used a 750 ml glass bottle which worked well. But as I am worried about possible contaminants/reactions from the metal lids I purchased a litre glass Pyrex bottle with glass stopper (shown in the photo below).

The problem I am going to have is getting a thick enough layer of solvent to actually pul,l it even with a decent glass syringe with a wheel. The volume of the bottle above is a litre to the point where the neck comes in. To get the solvent far enough up the neck to create a thick enough layer to pull easily I have the following options:

1) I increase the overall volume by adding more deionised water. Will this negatively affect the yield? As in Cyb's tek the overall volume of basified solution is a round 700 ml. I would need to take the basified solution up to around 1.2 litre I reckon but will need to measure it properly.

2) increase the amount of all ingredients to get to the 1.2 litre mark. How much should I add of each thing (MHRB, lye, water, salt, vinegar)

3) use a lot more solvent to create a thick enough layer to pull. If I do this would it better to do 2 large pulls with a lot of mixes and settle outs before pulling, say 8 mixes per pull.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Hello friend.

All you need to do is top off with de-ionised water.
Don't bother over complicating it. If you've done the Acid and base parts of the reaction then you are spot on. A little water before you pull is totally ok.

If you are worried about it having added water, just test the pH on the base phase. If its still past 12 then don't worry about a thing. If its low then add a little NaOH to water and top it up a touch to reach the desired pH.

Everything will goto plan.

Make sure to pop out the stopper & vent frequently when doing any sort of heat bath or when agitating to mix layers.
I have had glass stopper pop out & fly across the room several times & once even spray bAsic solution & solvent all over the walls.
