Advice on vaping device & setup

Reading this and other threads, I get the impression that the sole purpose of using the citrate salt is for a less bad flavor. Is that the case?
Maybe not the sole purpose - there are also factors like biocompatibility (OK, perhaps that one goes without saying!), solubility, OTC availability, ease of preparation and handling, and possibly some other factors that I can't quote off the top of my head - suggestions welcome.

Sorry, I formulated my question incorrectly. I actually meant if that's the sole purpose of using a salt form instead of just using freebase DMT. I suppose in theory there could be better absorption due to water solubility, but is there a consensus about whether the difference is significant?

I've done some more testing, and have now reverted to a sub-ohm coil, I use vaporesso ceramic coils, and keep the wattage quite low. Very smooth and dosing at low wattage is quite easy. Turning it up and taking big hits can take you deep.

iluvsdmt As for the nicotine question, I'd say any substance added to the mix will alter the experience, but I can't see why nicotine would cause any problems. Give it a go would be my advice, and report back!

I think nicotine is a MAOI inhibitor. Or maybe its tobacco smoke i'm thinking of.

Ayahuasceros love a bit of tobacco during the ceremony, so maybe this is to give an MAOI boost? Tobacco, Aya and DMT obviously synergise well.
A quick search on MAOI in tobacco shows research directed at any link with addiction. Seems different tobacco products may contain differing amounts of MAOI, which may make them more or less addictive.

ChatGPT says, "Yes, natural tobacco generally contains more monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) compared to processed tobacco."

hello to everyone I have just discover the forum.
I am researching online since some days about what device use for vaping dmt e-juice.

In my home I already have a Vaporesso Itank with 0,4 ohm pre made mesh coil that usually I use at 50 W (not in TC mode cause the coil are in Ni chrome) but from what I understand 50 W is a bit too high for vaping dmt ?

In alternative I have a pod, the Geekvape Wenax M2, with mounted a battery of 1200 mhA and max W 16, that mount a coil of 0,8 ohm.

the dmt e juice I have is with the ratio of 1 gr Dmt in 1 ml of e juice.

From what I read seems to me that if I want to use in the sub ohm I Tank maybe I should liquify more my e juice cause with this ratio could be too strong, adding 1 ml of Glycole should be enough?

Or better start trying using my Wenax without modify the e juice ratio? do you think is powerful enough a pod mod like this for absorb the dmt?

I have found lots of informations online but still little confused about what device try to start.

In the case I will use the Itank I have found some glass long drip tips on amazon as someone suggested in another thread.

I also a rebuildable dripper for cloud chasing that I don't use since a lot of time but only coil wire I have for this is coil of 0,14 ohm and I imagine that is too low?

I know I have done too much questions and sorry for my english, just give me a direction from your experience, thanks!

Beware! Don't mix up glycol (antifreeze) with glycerol/glycerine, a.k.a. VG! The former is not what you want; please ensure that you have glycerol.
For Glycol I mean PG, I mean Propylene glycol...
usually in vape juices there is VG (vegetable glycerin) and PG (Propylene glycol).

and from what I read seems that with dmt is better PG. I have understand wrong?

No, you're OK, better use 'PG' to abbreviate for propylene glycol, though, as the word "glycol" by itself refers to ethylene glycol.

You're fine using PG, it's a superior solvent for DMT when compared to VG.

My point is that nomenclatural precision is rather important in chemistry!

[Glycol (ethylene glycol/ethane-1,2-diol, (CH₂OH)₂) was named after glycerol (propane-1,2,3-triol, CHOH(CH₂OH)₂), because it has two-thirds as many carbon and oxygen atoms as glycerol, and "glyc-" has two-thirds as many letters as "glycer-" - no joke!

The term glycol was then expanded to refer to any compound with a pair of hydroxy groups on two adjacent saturated carbon atoms, similar to the way "aldehyde" originally referred only to what we now know as acetaldehyde (or ethanal, CH₃CHO) but has been generalised to any compound of the formula RCHO.]

ah Ok now I get it!

yes you're right better be more precise, thanks for let me know it

Tried helping my partner get into vaping too, and ended up with something simple and sleek, for example the Lost Mary tappo air. It fit in her pocket, hit smooth, and the taste was way less harsh than smoking. She could slowly work up doses without gagging, and I didn’t have to fuss with complicated settings.
