After about 20 hours, what should the freeze precip look like?

If your freezer is cold enough, you should see crystals forming on the upper sides of the jar within 3-6 hours... You will know. If you dont see anything after 20 hrs- your solution is probably not concentrated enough - if this is the case- reduce half of that volume and freeze again.To reduce quickly ,place naptha/bestine in a pyrex glass dish and cover with 2 layers of cheese cloth( to prevent contams) and place in front of fan. Good luck .

i usually go 12 hours, a reuse solvent.
You can fill zip lock bags with water and put them in the feezer, itll help bring the temp down. I like to surround my mason jar with them in the freezer.

my crystals fall out of the solution really really quickly.. just blowing on it a whole bunch fall out.. though they are always much smaller that way. i dont even need to use a freezer a lot of the time it seems to fall out fine at room temp and forms way better crystals that way too. thats from using acacia... its interesting how when i pull the shellite out its usually clear.. and just blowing on it slightly all these white clouds start forming
personally i feel a freezer is not neccesary.. at least not in the colder seasons. temp here is usually between 10-15 degrees celsius.. and the spice falls out fine at that temp

@bricklaya: I've always wondered about doing extractions in the more wintry climates, and how cool it would be to just set the precipitation container outside in some snow and "naturally" freeze-precip! That's awesome! It would be nice to not have to empty the fridge first! I even thought about somebody in perhaps 1800 could have potentially extracted DMT... provided it was winter! I mean, I don't really know if they could but it was fun to think about.
