Is it my imagination, or are these on the rise?
Especially from our newer members with fewer posts, I don't know should these be allowed
given the nature of the site and the hobby?

The "big fish" should be aware enough not to visit a place like this from a home pc. It's the "little fish" that could get unlucky. If something unfortunate should happen, like an electrical fire or act of god, and the police should discover something silly in one's home, the last thing you'd want is for the investigation into this "dangerous drug production facility" to turn up posts with your face on them talking about extractions.

Big fish? I dont understand... big DMT fish? Dmt isnt sold like a drug. Its a sacrament. A divine molecule not some narcotic to be peddled by 'big fish'

I dont think you will find any 'big fish' here.
I wish I could agree, but the other day we had someone in the chat asking for a method to quickly and efficiently extract from 20lbs (it mighta been kilos but i think it was pounds) in one go. To me, that does not sound like a simple home user extracting a lil bit of spice. And there are people who sell it and do not respect it. I am aware of at least one individual who attends the same university and sells spice and molly and some other stuff. He has no reverence, it's just another drug to him. I've never been to a festival, but from what I've heard, it's pretty commonly sold there. If only people knew how easy it was to extract and how much $$$ it would save them...

Alas, dmt falls into the "esoteric drug" category

I am a little fish; but I am also a blue elephant. Pokey; I want to take your avatar home and give it a nice warm saucer of milk. Spicy milk, of course

cayenne pepper milk perhaps ? :surprised :p ?

DMT is love. you must spread it like love. its priceless. as invaluable as money is already how could you put a monetary value on DMT? my theory is: more people are going to be willing to experiment and accept if its free. They were given the chemical out of kindness so their experience is better. also the more people who have tried it the better the world.

Pokey I hope you look like that in real life. I like the thought that there are psychedelic space monkeys out there.

This is an old picture. I'm a little fatter in real life.

Pokey

awwwww im glad somone else finds him cute. *SQUIDGE* hey pokey.

@SnozzleBerry: Ive never encountered anyone selling DMT and I don't want to either. I don't think its common, what with the mind-shatteringly terrifying effects and all.
@blast_off_tramp: If we 'spread dmt like love' isn't it just going to contribute to the outlawing of such a sacrament? The government make everything interesting illegal. =(

I've been looking like
<this ever since I took acid for the first time.

I show my real face to warn people about the dangers acid...you might never look the same again.

...my mother cried...

Yeah, people putting real pics of themselves in their avatars is stupid... oh wait.

I guess i was trying to be different and show myself, but not at the same time. Maybe I'll type "DMT" into Google Images and select a really nifty pic that's totally psychedelic and original!

On a more serious note... if anyone is offended or thinks my avatar is something which could ultimately be damaging this forum in some way, please let me know.

Well you're obviously in England so it's not of concern to me. I found my icon using google images, don't remember what I used to search for it but it's very similar to this entity that very commonly stares right back at me as I enter into the dome. It's the best depiction I've seen of this entity, which has taken humanoid as well as owl-like, falcon-like, octopus-like, and elephant/Ganesha-like forms. But the two eyes are always there, staring right back...also it only appears when I pre-dose with Syrian Rue.

I'm not a sheeple. I don't need to hide. Using drugs is not wrong or immoral. The only freedom we have is in between our ears, I am not going to let them take that away. I use my real name and face, I am out of the closet.
If you want to be free, hiding in a closet doesn't cut it. Your closet is a prison of your own making. I urge every body who can to come out of the closet and also join a drug policy reform group, donate and do everything you can to claim your freedom. The government already knows about me since I email them all the time about legalization of drugs with my name and address on the emails. That is why I never use the word SWIM unless it is a forum rule.

I always ware my NORML gold leaf and my LEAP pin on my jacket.

Fear is you enemy.

No offence Brian, I'm sure you're a nice guy, but that just makes me wary of you. If I were vehemently anti-drugs that's the kind of scheme I'd concoct to get people to expose themselves.

I am not choosing a path of fear. I love my happy life, so I am careful to ensure nothing ruins that. No fear involved, only due caution. If I were to disclose my dreaming friends' identities, now that would be a cause of worry for me. I am happier keeping them anonymous.

I do respect a person's decision to take a stance such as yours when they have fully weighed the potential consequences. That doesn't mean I have to approve of it (my concern being people who do it without weighing up the consequences and get themselves in trouble). I don't think it's fair to require others to disclose their spirituality by labelling them as choosing the path of fear.

Personally I don't think having your 'freedom in our minds' is enough for me, I like to have freedom outside my mind too. I would not like to have to retreat into my mind in a prison cell, my body rotting from the inside out from the awful food they make you eat, and in peril from my more violent roomeys.

I agree it's good to be out in the open, most of us are generally in our real lives outside of the internet. A LEAP pin badge is hardly incriminating. All my dreamer friends' friends know about their spiritual practices, and those they don't know so well can I'm sure guess by their awesome attitude and general coolness! ;) But everything that goes on the internet is potentially there forever, and who knows what the future may bring. Openly admitting your activities along with your identity on the internet is akin to talking loudly in the street about how you're extracting Class A drugs right in front of a policeman.

Saying that, if you are rich or famous then I think coming out of the spiritual closet is a very good thing for the cause... at least these people have the money to defend themselves from prosecution. It seems to me that government shy away from persecuting the rich these days and prefer to concentrate on making examples of their 'social inferiors' who can't afford good lawyers, can't cause media storms that could lead to serious questioning of policy, and for whom those in authority feel less affinity. Still, I don't have the stomach for it. I prefer to stay off the radars of the control freaks in charge, even though I don't actually do anything illegal myself.

I really admire and respect your stand, Brian. However, I don't feel like I'm in a closet or a prison; nor would I describe myself as a sheeple (though I love the word) ... but personally, I prefer keeping separate facets of my life separate.

I have children, and frankly I wouldn't want my 12 year old daughter googling me and finding a picture of me on this forum and reading about my journeys. It's not shame on my part; it's just that I feel she could not, at her age, comprehend this activity, and it's not something she needs in her life or needs to be aware of right now.

The same is true of my employers. You seem to have made a career out of your activism, and I applaud you for that; my work is different, and it would not benefit me for too many people to know about this aspect of my life. In fact, I tell very, very few people about it - only those I trust, and who I feel may be interested in taking this journey themselves.

I believe the spice finds those who it wants as hosts, so I don't feel any need to evangelise. Those who are ready, and willing, find it.

I also find the anonymity a lot of fun; I enjoy wondering about what people are like or what they do. And it also allows me to express myself freely, and with complete honesty.

Besides all that, I love the avatars here, in all their hyperspatial glory.

Just my opinion and approach; to each their own. :)

Big ups, totally agree.
I really would never put my name on here even though i am completely free (in every respect but probationary)
But i feel a picture of self should at least have a little discression, and i do like to wonder about what the people look like and do.

I LOVE IT! i questioned at first if that was really you or not, but its a great picture.

I say keep it

My friend has a record for posession. That is what thinking the law was an ass got him. I dont agree with theses laws, but they still stand. His record has prevented him from doing several worthwhile things in life, and severely limited his career choices. The situation is far from perfect, but if you ask me, you are much more "free" by keeping your illegal activities on the low. Stick your head above the parapits and it will get shot off. The police and justice system don't give a shit about your beliefs.

Campaign for change? Absolutely, but if you get careless it will only do you harm IMO.

@ DoingKermit - I love your Avatar! Either an extraction was in progress, or you were about to go raving 😉
