If you have not seen this.... OMG... It's insane.... Paranoid schizoid madness. Laugh until you fall into a drowning heap...

He's right though, I smoke dmt so that clock work elves can posses me and allow them access into this world through harden colliders...

Terence McKenna was an ethnobotanist that talked about psycho-pharmacology and when he talked about subjective philosophical issues, he warned that this was his opinion on that matter.

Alex Jones is a radio host that talks about conspiracy theories, never saying that he might be wrong.

I see the point benzyme makes, but I don't think McKenna is comparable to Alex Jones. :)

It's clear to me that this Alex Jones guy just wants to keep his $how alive no matter what... just like Jaime Maussan and his Tercer Milenio UFO Show.

Where's his sources about DMT and aliens and politicians, benzyme?

As for McKenna, you are totally missing the point if you think he established his ideas as facts. He wasn't crazy as hell, he was an excentric who had fun messing with words and ideas.

I agree. Just wanted to declare that McKenna Bros, Shulgin, Sagan, etc.... are people that base their opinions on a lot of verifiable evidence and a lot of "science" but they add their opinions on certain points including spirituality, etc.

People like Jones, Maussan, and others like to create polemic debate based on controversial topics like UFOS, CTS, etc because it is healthy for their wallet since they work in the media. If they have good intentions or not is another topic.

McKenna had several of his own conspiracy theories.

Name 2 of them

food of the gods:
he was certain that meat was poisonous to the human body,
and also felt that sugar was unnecessary in the human diet. claimed the "dominator culture"
perpetuated these industries as a form of control and harm to humans.

red meat is a prime source of tristearins and B12, good luck finding a source as rich as
red meat.

sucrose is a disaccharide, of glucose and fructose. fructose can be metabolized and put into the glycolysis cycle, along with the molecule of glucose.

Hmmm... interesting. I thought that McKenna's points was that:

a) Meat was not necessary for a healthy diet (I disagree with this point, of course, but I don't see the CT here).

b) Sugar is a "drug" and has influenced the dominant culture. And something about it having something to do with slavery at some point. (sounds like a CT to me).

I'll go read about that and come back with a better argument later.

please do

but don't claim that terrence is supported by "science" in his claims. he had some commentary that is just ridiculous too.
it's fine to have preference over certain eccentric personalities over others, but
remember...they all have their bs commentary.

I liked Lilly, Shulgin, Watts, and Robert A. Wilson. all had some valid points, but they also had moments of absurdity. all are human, so is alex jones.

I think meat is poisonous to the human body. Im quite set in my beliefs surrounding meat but that is based on personal experience more than anything else. IMO that does not fit into conspiracy at all since the evidence is still formally inconclusive..the china study is a good thing to read but has been disputed somewhat. So far all I have seen to dispute it is that typical vegetarian diets can leave you more malnutritioned than meat eating diets. The typical vegie diet is a poor approximation of a well rounded vegetarian diet though. There are just too many variables here to claim that as conspiracy theory really.

Sugar though..I think saying sugar is poisonous is rediculous. Refined sugar is poison I agree..

Was Mckenna a vegetarian? I thought he was not..

Edit..now that I think of it I dont think either of those fit as "conspiracy"..I get your point but Mckenna was not conspiring againt anyone. He was just formulating a theory he had that he put forth. There was no "conspiracy" there to be found.

^mckenna's ideas, reguardless of how truthful would not fit into that defintion of conspiracy. Alex Jones on the other hand goes off on long rants about people conspiring in a way that fits the definition of "conspiracy".

Yeah I like Mckenna, but in no way take everything he said literally..and I dont think he meant for people to take him that way. He himself stated he was sort of immune to conspiracy theories and did not seem like the type to create him own really..though alot of people misinterprete him I think and go off on all these tangets abotu his ideas taken literally.
