Am Forgetting my DMT Trips Within Minutes.....

Migrated topic.

Rising Star
I have been smoking DMT quite heavily the past couple of weeks, due to having a rather large supply available. I have smoked it many times in the past (first about a year ago), but never as frequently as the past 2 weeks or so.... I was having some incredible experiences, and was especially enjoying that feeling of "being loved by the Universe," that ultracontent glow that so often follows a good trip.

Then, about a week ago, the DMT seemed to stop working on me.

A little experimentation revealed to me that I was still having the trip, but the memory of it, details as well as the general experience as a whole was evaporating from my memory within minutes of coming down. And, needless to say, that warm afterglow is now gone.

Has anyone else ever experienced this? Have I indulged too much in too short a time? I figure I should take 2 or 3 weeks off and perhaps the old times will return.... will they?

Are there any supplements I should perhaps take to aid this? Any other possible advice on the cause of this phenomenon and how to reverse it?

The idea of a life without an occasional DMT experience, and the memory of it afterwards, is almost unbearable to me. :(

Any advice or ideas is appreciated. Thanks. :)

Take a break. I have found that, for me, there is such a thing as DMT burnout. Things may seem dull, or weak, no matter how much is smoked. Sometimes forgetting is part of the experience.

You may want to have a notepad or a tape recorder ready when you first come back. Record anything you can remember, that way it will not be lost.

Thank you for your quick response, acalon_5! I figured it was something like that. Gonna take a break.

Thank you also for your helpful responses to my newbie extraction questions a couple weeks ago. I will email you when I narrow down exactly what further questions I have about extractions.

The idea of recording the experience on paper or audio had occurred to me, as well.

Thanks again! :)

SWIM generally tells others to start talking about it immediately so as not to forget ALL of the experience.
It seems very similar to dreaming for SWIM. When you first wake up, you have such a vivid idea of your dream, but those memories seem to deteriorate rather quickly.
If you don't have any friends to talk to, then record yourself tripping.
Safe flying!

You are quite welcome. PM me any time you have a question, or if I can't answer it I'll direct you to a thread that does answer it!

I know how it can be. For a while I would have an amazing experience and just couldn't wait to get back there. I was smoking spice up to three or four times a day. It started to get to where the effects just kinda died out a bit. Raising the dose didnt work for me, I would just have an uncomfortable experience.

Give it a rest for a week or a month, it'll be there when you get back.

I've heard this as well, but it hasn't been my experience.

I used to smoke daily when I first started smoking spice. Now I almost never smoke, but my experiences are no easier to remember or more vivid when I'm there. Truly I haven't noticed all that much difference, other than each and every experience is almost completely different from the last.

Do you smoke a lot of marijuana? Cutting back on that may help. At least that's what I've heard.

I do, as a matter of fact. But then again, I smoked just as much a couple weeks ago when I was having incredible experiences, of which I could remember every single detail days and even weeks later, so I dunno.

And acalon, yes, I, too, was using it 3-4 times a day. My extensive experiences with drugs far less enlightening than DMT has always taught me that using anything too much or too frequently will lessen how "special" that drug's effects will be. I promised myself that I would not let that happen with DMT, because my experiences were so special.

Ah, well. Moderation was never one of my fortes. I will take a few weeks' break. :)

Thanks again, guys!

Maybe keep a journal. A dream journal helps my lady remember her dreams, maybe it could have the same application with spice. Maybe even give yourself a quick reminder just before you hit the pipe, simply tell yourself to remember. say "I AM GOING TO REMEMBER EVERYTHING" instruct yourself just before you blast off. doing that as I fall asleep helps me remember my dreams incredibly... it makes a monumental difference.

I had that a couple of times, forgetting everything seconds afterwords...its weird.
Practising remembering dreams when you wake up seems to help a lot, since like someone said,
dreams slipping away from you are a similar phenomenon

When you smoke 3-4 times per day are you going for full on break through experience each time? If so, wow. That's a lot for the mind to even begin to try to assimilate or make sense of in any way.

I was, yes. If anything, each successive trip was more out there than the last. After this past weekend, taking two hits of Hoffman blotter and almost 3 grams of K (Shpongle show!), taking a break from everything for a while.

this happened to me the other day, i remember the visions being very familiar {like visions from a previous trip}and then when i came out of it i immediately could not remember any thing about it, only that it was very familiar:?: for me using mj does affect my ability to remember my dreams, and i did use mj that day so that could very well have been my problem:)

how many of our dreams to we remember?
theres also a problem i know with lsd and short term memory... it exhausts vasperesin levels which is necessary for memory recall. that i think can be remedied by vasporessin which you can get online from over sees. its a nootropic drug that requires a prescription. but you can get it online from over seas...

Please be careful with vasopressin, however. It's MAIN function in the body is to cause the body to retain water (it's like the opposite of a diuretic). You CAN use too much and it will increase your blood pressure and cause too much fluid to be retained in your tissues. It CAN cause problems. It can be safely used in it's "normal" dosage, which is, I think, about a snort up each nostril, 3-4 times per day.

It's not likely that a young, healthy person is short on vasopressin. If you normally sleep through the night without having to get up to urinate, then you're not low on vasopressin.

Well, I took a break of almost 3 weeks, then harvested a nice 500 mg or so of white spice and just kinda went crazy with it.... increasing dosage and still no memories. :(

I had plenty of P. Harmala, too, but by the time I thought to take it, my stash of white crystals was just about gone.

I need to plan ahead next time.... ;)

This is what pretty much all of SWIMs experiences are like. I know somethin has happened, but cant really remeber what!
It always amazes me how people can remember so much in their trip reports.
Its quite annoying actually as I sometimes wonder if theres any point if you cant remember it!!!!
