An Experienced Psychonaut But Never Tried DMT

Hi Everyone,

I have tried pscychedelics in the past around my early 20s. First time was when I tried Salvia Divinorum (used to be sold legally in conveneince stores in Toronto). After that initial experience, my curiosity began to grow as I had no idea that your mind was able to go have such an experience. During the next few years, I have tried LSD (lots of it) and pcilocybin and amanita muscaria mushrooms. The first few trips were with other people. But I found that i had a profound experience when I did the LSD by myself in my own room. I have since then been trying to have this DMT experience but never found anyone who has links to getting it. I'm no expert chemist and have very rudimentary skills when it comes to extractions. I have two requests from anyone out on this forum:
1) What is the most simple, yet rewarding method to DMT extraction from MHRB (Mimosa Hostilis Root Bark)? When I say simple, I MEAN the MOST SIMPLE, but MOST YIELDING method?

I understand this is a legally prohibited substance but once you look through the veil, it's hard to never want to take a peak again. If anyone is willing to help or share knowledge, I would appreiate it with enormous gratitude. Thank you and hope everyone is well.

Thank you. I apologize for the second question. I didn't realize it was against community rules. It's something I wanted to try before I die. I am 40 years old currently and it's never beeen an easy task trying to find it. And synthesizing it myself would be cool if I had a guide and the simplest but most effective method. But it would highly suck not being able to experience the DMT space before I leave this world.

Take a trip to the local hardware store, physically or digitally, and see what solvents and chemicals you have access to. Read their MSDS to ensure they don't have random proprietary additives in them like rust removers. Then you can dig into which tek is best for you. You'll likely have to decide how you want to consume your DMT early on while overviewing teks.

DMT Extraction Overview is a good place to read through. It quickly covers extraction tek selection in the first section before getting into the overview.

You know how the saying goes, "You don't find DMT, DMT finds you"


That said, yes there is something distinctly missing from your psychedelic explorations without coming across this substance. Also learn about Harmalas, and smoke or vape DMT after consuming them.
If you're not one for extracting, getting involved in the psychedelic scene more broadly with genuine seekers and spiritual folk will also increase the odds that the Universe may bring DMT your way.

I found Q21Q21's d-limonene tek easy enough. I haven't tried HIELO but it may be my extraction path for the future. it doesn't seem complicated, really. Ethyl acetate is cheaper than d-limonene. A lot of the people here gave great advice. You can usually get help in the chatroom, too

How do you plan to use your DMT? I am looking at a subohm vape pen hence why I want DMT citrate via HIELO. You can also use pure white DMT in vape pens too.

You can use a dab rig, GVG, or one of the homemade DIY devices

Oral DMT is a good option too but different from vaporized
