Anyone Growing These?

Anyone cultivating HBWR,Ololuiqui,Morning glory? 🌱
I saw the title and was hoping for ololiuqui or HBWR pics - ah, well. I've tried growing Heavenly Blues here but they never set seed. Grandpa Ott's otoh does very well, but is an inactive species as far as I can discern, other than some slightly uninteresting effects from the flower tincture which seem to be due to ipalbidin or something like that. At least the Grandpa Ott flowers are very pretty, and it's fun gathering the seed pods - I did this just the other day and have a curiously satisfying bowlful of seeds that I may well grind up and brew on the off-chance that they've miraculously turned active.

I still have some seeds of the other species somewhere; maybe some of them are still viable, hm…

Hello JungleGhost!!

I've successfully grown Morning Glories for the first time this year!!

Ipomea Tricolor var. heavenly blue!

They are truly heavenly, really soothing and calming to look at.

I first encountered the seeds when I was a teen and despite the nausea and the wrong setting I remember a useful reflective inner state of mind, relaxing and a bit detached, in wich my thought train split itself into various aspects of my personality, letting the "Oneself" analyze them.
I do not remember any visual aspect whatsoever, and in retrospect it was a positive therapeutic experience.

I am truly excited to encounter it again when the seeds will ripen, it could be a trustworthy ally for self reflection.

@Transform, despite this not being ololiuqui but tlitlitzin, I'll attach the best photos I can as this is the best time of the year to show the morphological characteristics of the whole plant.

Flower, seedpod, flowers at various blooming stages, base stem, mix against the sky, leaf, leaf, seedpod vs blooms, old flower, underside flower.

I grew a big morning glory heavenly Blue this summer. Bloomed about 1 flower a day, didn't get any seed pods tho. I live quite far North.
Sounds like we have the same problem. When I was living at around 53.5°N but with a more maritime climate, there was no trouble with seed development, however. I'm rather beginning to suspect that some seeds sold in mainstream stores as Heavenly Blue may be a sterile hybrid. I wouldn't have thought that an extra half degree of latitude would make that big of a difference, but there could well be a line somewhere.

I'll try planting seeds from the same batch at a selection of latitudes next year, most of them more southerly than my present location.

@(:Hulius:) - thanks for the lovely pics!
