Swim has always done small pulls with naptha of about 50ml but the marsofold tek suggest just doing one 300ml pull.

Is there a difference?

with a 500g extraction is 300ml reccomended? and what amount is best to evap it down to before freeze precip?

thanks,

I would stick with 50 or even 90 (90 is 3 shots), 300 seems like overkill,
pull until you do not notice the solvent changing colors, then combine and evaporate to at least half the original volume.... then freeze precip.

To answer the question

Yes.

Magic info:
For an STB
0.4ml naphtha per gram of bark, per pull.
Five pulls is ideal.
Thus for a 100g bark extraction... 100 x 0.4ml = 40ml per pull.
40ml x 5 = 200ml total.

Do the pulls, combine total pulls, evaporate to 50% volume (outside), then freeze precipitate.

I do one big pull.

The things is if you're going to do one big pull, you have to really mean it. I use 1-200ml and I agitate hard and often for days. Then I heat the last time I agitate and separate damn quickly...

Then cool damn slowly :)

Also when doing an STB there's no point doing this unless the bark's been soaking for at least 2 days.
