I call this collage "Bee Keeper". Men toil as mid-level robots keep a close eye. The un-naturals chum it up and act important.
I love the bee keeper. i'm especially impressed by how smooth and similar all the sources seem. i'd love to know how you processed your clipped art to look so smooth and vintage

Oly,
That's so cool! I love how many different elements there are to it. There's so many different patterns and shapes, and it all works together so well! I think my favorite part is the back of the knee.

Thank you all for the support and kind words. here's a couple more I finished last week.

Really interesting mix of styles and subjects from everyone in this thread, I love to see these different ideas in one place.

Hard to get some decent work done lately, been a while since I posted much, but here's a sketch I did last night :

The talent on this forum is just ridiculous.

Interesting that you saw it as shells.

Your work is very nice indeed! Love how you applied the effect to the form of the face, almost kind of neo-Klimt.

Incredible work everybody! Oly, a lot of your work has this great balance between being bold and delicate... It walks that line very nicely, with the energy behind the patterns being the prime element.

Mailorderdeity, those are really cool. Nice to see your work after reading about your set painting career. Nice technique. The portrait reminds me of that movie Waking Life, the way it's broken into chunks like that. Would be interesting to see the face and background dissolving/merging with each other more- is that part of what you were getting at? The other piece is very imaginative and effective.

Orion, that's one of my favorite pieces of yours. I know it's "only" a sketch, but it's really potent. Sometimes it's those stretches of time between major works, just living your life, when a lot of creative evolution happens. I think it has a lot of energy and presence. More importantly, it's very You, in a thoroughly authentic way. It's clearly your piece, your style. And that sideways glance is indeed nicely startling.

Very impressive, guys.

Orion - I have to agree - sketch or no sketch, I'd say that's one of my faves.

mailorderdeity - Really, really unique. I like it a lot.

A new one, some of my usual glowing organic stuff, done very fast and loose at a live event last month.
