Base step, ran out of Lye at PH 12 - help with adding NaCI

Migrated topic.
Can I bump up the PH a little by adding sodium carbonate?

Also, I'm still not sure on how much NaCI to use to draw out the DMT. I started with about 1kg of ACRB this time and reduced it to around 2100ml of fluid. Can someone help me out here?

I also have some pure magnesium sulfate if that's a better choice but I also do not know a good formula for that.

pH 12 is already high enough, you can proceed with that.

Sodium carbonate won't increase the pH more, only to about 10-11.

The amount of NaCl depends on factors like whether you keep the bark in water. I usually add 100-150 g salt per liter of water. Just make sure the solution is not too thick/viscous.

Thanks magic. It's very thick/viscous already so maybe I ought to split it into two batches.

I added a bit of sodium carbonate to test and like you said, no change from where I had it with Lye. I hope I didn't screw anything up.
