Best tanks for e-juice?

Migrated topic.

Ive found that there is a certain amount of juice that can never be used as it sits below the holes for the coil. Is there a brand that has the holes very low down as there is potential for waste from burning the coil, and juice will be lost through recovery.

Hello ! First of all it's better using small/reduced diameter tanks, so the residual juice amount will be less. 2ml/22 millimeters tank is more than enough. Also, especially when there is not much juice left, it's simportant to store the clearo or put down the box vertically. I use the 2ml Vaporesso Veco Tank, its coil holes reach the bottom of the clearo, and last but not least it is leakproof (airflow located at the top of the clearomizer) and the top cap is fully removable, so you can easily reload with a syringe. Different coils types available from 0.3 to 0.6ohms : SS316, kanthal, etc. 5 years of use (for spice as well as for daily nicotine vape) and still happy with it.

Pretty good when low, but I simply top off before running out

That has enough control to not combust it or under vape?

Not sure I understand the question. It simply makes an aerosol at ~200C with small e-juice droplets that carry dissolved DMT (free base or salt). Not sure how it is possible to "under vape" (low vapor density?) or combust.

Silly question really you wouldn't have mentioned it if it didn't work well enough

I got myself one of these what temperature or wattage do you set it to?

It depends on your coil type (and ohms). I used to do TC (Temperature Control) but definitely too much weird behaviours and too much sensitive to a lot of parameters. Lately I use the VPC mode from my box (Aegis Solo2 S100), it allows to define a 5 seconds wattage curve, instead of a fixed wattage. I use the SS316 0.3ohms coil and I would say that the average wattage for this coil - and exclusively this coil ! - is around 20 watts (given 35-40w for regular nicotine vape). My VPC curve starts at 23w, decreasing and ending at 17 watts. Anyway, the deal is to not burn the spice ! So I would advice to start on the low side of wattage and increase progressively until you find the good settings. Inevitably there is a learning curve, take time to tame the inhaling technique and the technical settings. Especially if you're new in the vape world :) Which coil do you use ?

p.s. : more details about my current use and settings

Ok cheers I had used the box before but not the coil, it was a half success, I think owing to too little in the tank so was a bit rough. Ended up on 25W with a EUC .4 ohm coil, wattage mode Im sure when the tanks much fuller it will be smoother. Thanks for the tips

You could try a dripper (RDA) then you can just make your coil and cotton up and drip the amount you want onto the cotton and get vaping. Means you don’t need to worry about anything getting stuck in a tank and it’s easy to change the cotton or coil if anything isn’t working correctly or gets burned.

Personally I think it is a better solution for DMT than a tank style atomiser as it’s very easy to add a few more drops and you can keep everything in an airtight bottle when you are not using it.

I love my Yocan Orbit. Looking to get a mod to fit the Orbit tank to to give more control than the three settings the OEM rig comes with though. TBC...

I have a steel wool vape setup for 1 (or 2, to be tested) hit approach; however consecutive dosing-up will be complicated / not well controlable with it.
Therefore, I'm currently looking for an e-juice device for surfing the wave (harmalas & vape).
Reading through the threads here and e-juice, I'm in between:

BoxMod approach,
e.g. Geekvape aegis solo2 s100 + 2ml vaporesso veco tank + EUC coil with 0.3 ohms
pro: power profile, coil reaches to bottom.
or Vaporesso Gen 80s (AXON Chip, highly configurable ) <- my current vavorite
or without profile (guess its not needed): Vaporesso GTX one or Eleaf iStick Pico Plus

Or something simpler like the geekvape wenax q; i.e. internal accu, pods (2ml pods available)

Not sure yet; I like to be able to change things (boxmod), but don't use it for something else, so may not be worth the extra money and something simpler might do.
What do you think?

I did some more research, and

Pod approach:
The geekvape wenax q ultra looks quite nice.
I like the possibility to configure the display as off, and it has an auto-draw function, such that one does not need to hit a fire button. Could be a nice feature when re-dosing.
However, it looks like the pods (3ml) have a larger dead volume compared to the vaporesso veco plus (shown to the right in the image).
Update: there seem to be 2ml geekvape q-pods for which the inlet goes all the way down, so this might be a good option.

The only 'downside' is that the have at min 0.6 Ohm, while the 3ml are available in 0.4 Ohm.

An extra + is that one can have spare pods with e.g. different concentration for not much money, compared to the boxmod approach.

BoxMod
The Gen 80s with the axon chip provides the pulsation mode, which might be helpful in handling the spice 'gently' *1 (citing Loveall here @Loveall )
So Gen80s + VecoPlus + 2ml glass looks like a fit, however it will turn out to be 4-5 x the money.

*1: I plan to use only PG, as it has a lower boiling point (188°C, 370°F) and we don't need the vapor density of VG (290°C, 554°F). The pulsation might allow to hav a continuous draw without overheating/burning the spice on the coil. Any experience with pulsation?

For once in my life I decided to go simple/cheaper and settled for the pod system geekvape wenax ultra, and it was a mistake!

It does not allow to control power freely, but forces 25 - 30 W to be used for the 0.4Ohm pod.
The vapor gets quite hot and super harsh (to me as non-smoker).

I only manage to inhale about 0.025g PG at once, with sme force to hold.

I now made a comparison with my steel-wool vape: dripped 0.05g PG on the wool and and made an inhalation test with Temperature sensor.
I can vaporize all the PG in one slow long inhale without problems.

After talking to a friend who is a frequent vaper (nicotine) I now ordered a
Geekvape aegis mini 2 with the Z Nano tank (2ml) with 0.2 Ohm B Series Coil.
It should be freely configurable. I'll report.
