I have a lot of naptha in a jar and have been trying to freeze precipitate the contents. Problem is I believe I have too much naptha and want to try to evap half of it. I was thinking a crock pot with a little bit of water set to low or medium might be ok, but im worried about heating it too much. How can I go about evaporating maybe 100-150ml of naptha in a day or two without causing problems?

This worked for SWIM
Put the naphtha in a large flat dish, like a casserole / lasagna dish, very clean, ideally new unused, the wider and longer the better, then put a heat pad (microwavable) or something else reasonably warm under it, so you have your naphtha in a large flat dish with a heat source under it, not to hot.
now position this dish so you can blow a fan over the naphtha, the trick is warming and the surface area the large dish covers allows greater evaporation.
You should be able to evap very quickly like this!

why waste the naphtha evapin it?? seems a waste too me. if you wanna freeze precip whatever is in the naphtha just freeze it in smaller jars. try just a couple of hundred mls in each jar that way the contents will precip easier.. then you can just keep reusing it.
and if you really do want to evap the naphtha for whatever reason just place it in a pyrex tray something with big surface area and place it over a saucepan of boiled water. dont put it on a hob with a flame. just make sure to replace the water with fresh hot water when it cools down so it doesnt take to long to evaporate.

You shouldn't reuse old naptha, it contains other crap that you extracted and to put that on fresh bark is criminal!
its cheep enough for the amount you need, and 150ml of naphtha is nothing to waste

why is it criminal?? in the past when i re-used old naphtha for years with no loss of yield or quality, if your freeze precipitating out of it then your only gonna get white nn. the naphtha will take on a more yellow colour thats all its a waste not to reuse solvents.

isn't the yellow color a something else that was pulled through? other plant oils, alks that don't freeze out?..... For the price of naphtha wouldn't it be best to use fresh?
its feels like pouring dirty solvent into a chemistry process, i wouldnt do it in a lab, i feel fresh is deserved due to its cheep price and purity. if 5 grams of spice can be extracted in 200ml - 250ml of solvent, that's so much spice for a few dollars worth of solvent, why not use fresh?
sorry if i offended, yes you will probably get same or very close to the smae yields.

Well I ended up going with my first idea and it seems to be working fine. Temp evened out to just below 50c, and I hope that isn't too hot. I have too much solvent from saving/collecting all that I have used lately. Its cheap and I don't want to reuse it so I want to make sure I get everything out of it that I can. Thanks for your thoughts/opinions anyway.

From the health and safety:
I measured the temperature again today it it read 57c. I have read that the boiling point for dmt could be as low as 60c, should I be worried about losing some to the air? Also the solvent doesn't get cloudy swirls in it when I blow on it like it used to, could it just be because its in warm solvent or did I really mess up?

I find that Newport Lighter Fluid Evaporates 35ml every Hour if left under a Fan...
In my opinion anything yellow is a good thing... but after a few pulls it becomes hard to track the DMT vs Gunk...
Id start with 4x 100ml pulls... then allow 200ml to evap (until cloudy)
Freeze that 200ml for 1-2 days ..then (pour off and store that Alk rich solvent)
do another 4 100ml pulls if you feel the need...
NOW the solvent you have stored up (not thrown) should be really really Yellow or Orangy mist... leave all of that to Evaporate by the window.. when i returned the cup had a hard brown block at the bottom that had a really crystalline shiney look to it..
