Brown Naptha Problem

This is my new first extraction. I used 100gr mhrb, 600ml distilled water and 100gr lye. I let that settle over night. I added 200ml naptha and mixed a little. I noticed the naptha was separating quite nicely with a hint of yellow. I read that a little warm bath would help the extraction. I mixed it vigorously and put in a bath of hot water. ( the hottest my tap can go) let that settle bit then mixed the shit out of it again. I put it back in the bath and let settle in there over night. Woke up this morning to pull out the naptha ans freeze but the color was very dark. Almost like kaluah or flat coca cola. Should I pull out the brown naptha and freeze it anyway and just purify whatever crystals I get from it.

Heard of a sodium carbonate wash but really not sure how to do it and I don't want to lose any dmt that might be in the brown naptha.

Most people get this problem when they use too much lye directly with their bark. It destroys the bark into microfine particles that suspend themselves in their naptha. A sodium carb wash won't fix this. Your best bet is it freeze precipitate it all in a jar, this is going to cause your spice and the brown to drop out. Then you should use that same jar to do a re-x. Pour off the naptha and that should fix your problem. You don't even need to use new naptha. You can use the same naptha you just used in the freeze precip. Just let it return back to room temperature naturally and then heat it up slightly without agitating it AT ALL. Once you have all the dmt back into the naptha the brown will be dropped to the bottom. Pour off that naptha and you're good.

Just so you know, 600ml water and 100g of lye is extremely excessive. You should only use about 60g or so for that amount of water.

Ok so decided to let go of my fist extraction attempt and start a new one. The only difference was 60g lye instead of 100g and I didn't use a warm bath. Huge difference. Naptha didn't turn brown instead slightly yellow. I through my first pull in the freezer and results were quite amazing after 48 hours. The dish surface turned white with crystals :)

Now.. I have questions. I plan on recrystallizing after all my pulls.
I noticed that my extraction after a day drying was a fluffy white powder. I decided to take about 25mg out and try it out. I don't have a vaporizer or anything fancy at the moment, did a little looking around the net and stumbled upon a method using a 2 liter bottle and some tin foil at the bottom. So I tried that. I don't know if this is best but this is what happened. I heated it as long as possible, the bottle filled with smoke but it wasn't so dense with smoke.

I took a hit and held it in for as long as possible then took another one. I notice a heavy feeling on my entire body and my vision became extreeeeemely sharp. Like crazy sharp. But that was it. A little buzzing sound as well. What does this mean?
Does my dmt have potential to be good stuff if I smoke it properly?

Quick question, once I have clean spice after freeze precipitating with naptha and would like to recrystallize with 99% isopropyl alcohol, do I let the isp/spice solution evaporate or freeze it as well. I think evaporating. This would allow the remaining naptha to float to the surface and evap first right?

You can most definitely use IPA or ethanol or acetone to dissolve DMT and let it evaporate again, to make sure any remaining naphtha fully evaporates (it will mix with the IPA, not float to the top but yeah works great).

Disadvantage is that it doesnt crystallize neatly, more likely it will be gooey at first, and then you scrape around a bit and let it stand, and then it starts to harden up but usually into a more waxy consistence instead of neat crystals.. But thats purely aesthetics, because it will be just as active, and you'll be sure no significant naphtha residues are there.

and yeah, you cant freeze precipitate from IPA nor acetone nor ethanol, so it has to be redissolving and evaporating.
