Greetings fellow psychonauts!
Mid-40s, came to psychedelics a few years back without any "substances" consumption background at all, had some really rough experiences with shrooms which resulted in me not being able to trip on high doses anymore. At some point - found out about DMT and here I am.
Can't claim - it was smooth sailing so far. Using the Pulsar ProShift dry herbs vaporiser and the learning curve was rather steep to get going. About 1.5g later - it feels - I'm getting a really good hang of it though - 190C is where things are the most controlable and repeatable.
Can't claim - I had actual breakthrough experiences yet, at least - I haven't seen any entities per say... But here are some initial observations:
- I'm getting a lot more cautious about accompanying music. When time starts "shimmering" - my usual go-to tripping playlist gets really sketchy.
- Will use that word again: "shimmering" - had one experience where between opening and closing my eyes - the whole surrounding was literally shimmering in the famous Matrix code - that is, before I learned this was a thing.
- Had another, very memorable trip where I wasn't getting anything by closing my eyes, and then - all of a sudden - all surrounding became so clear and focused... so I made the mistake of looking outside where everything was minecraft-ed (no idea-where this came from as I never even played that game). Three particularly strong thoughts grabbed the hold of my mind right here:
1) "Have you ever had a dream, Neo, that you were so sure was real? What if you were unable to wake from that dream? How would you know the difference between the dream world and the real world?"
2) What if I stay this way?
3) Terrence's death by astonishment...
- When bordering lose-of-body states - outside world perception - actually feels rather similar to my 15g shrooms "dive" which started the streak of very bad trips for me and at this point - I'm inclined to agree with Terrence that shrooms are like a slow-release DMT
- Anybody else gets the "immortal" from "Chronicles of Riddick" effect? Where your "soul" moves faster than your body? Or is it the other way around - body is ahead in time?
- Despite DMT's obvious advantage of being very short lived - I'm starting to miss the "analog" vibe of shrooms. Don't miss the fact that once you're in - you're in for at least 3-4 hours though...
- Feeling very anxious before and while prepping for every sessions - it sheds away after first few in breaths, but still - not a particularly comfortable feeling. Any suggestions as to how to ease it?
Anyhow, really glad to be here!
