Caapi Leaf Tea oral dose question

Migrated topic.

Greetings,

I was reading something on a post that said you can drink a caapi leaf tea and then proceed to smoke dmt and go on a adventure for a hour or two...

My question is how many leaves/grams make up a dose of caapi tea?

I've never ventured into the longer journeys just the short 10 minute ones and am getting more and more intrigued by the longer lasting trips.

This is the post I saw the information on:
smoking DMT vs oral DMT/ayahuasca

I crush up one to two grams of cappi leaf and boil it like any tea in a tea bag or tea sock...

If you dont have a tea bag just boil all of it in watera loose then strain the caapi leaf through a coffie filter ..

The tea should have a yellowish look or maybe a little red in it..

Ive never had any naseua or problems from this tea,,,

hope this helps..

This method will work better with rue or caapi vine as they both have more of the alkaloids you are after

I would first suggest you do some research into Maoi's and Rima's check our health and saftey section there is some really important info you need to know before ingesting a caapi or rue brew

also look into mao inhibition and what the approximate necesary amounts are to get what you are looking for

and another thing 1-2 hour trips are a bit of an exaggeration maybe more like 20-45 min trips

be safe do some more research before persuing this further as seretonin syndrome and hypertensive crisis are not to be triffled with

I definitely have a tea bag and an abundant source of caapi leaves and whole vine as well so can't wait to try this!

I just boiled up 3x 30min water extractions of caapi leaf and am making 24x~ caapi leaf or something near there for some changa....Water came out a nice red too and illuminated under black light into a nice green haha.

Thanks starway6 will be trying the tea soon :)

This has been my experience as well...around 20-30 minutes maybe with sufficient harmalas.
But that's ok too. The whole experience will have a distinctly different flavour though.

that time frame is great by me to :) it can be a nice little introduction before I get serious into considering brewing up some Ayahuasca.

I will also be researching thouroughly into maoi and all that I think my diet helps me out a lot though..

I have some experience with this , I've grown caapi at home now for about a decade , my region does not really allow for outdoor planting so I have to make it with the leaf or vine I grow. Most of the time I will purchase caapi vine to add but sometimes I just make a heavy leaf brew , now I will tell you , it has a heavy heavy heavy Quality to it , the leaf harmala content really depends on the genetics and the growing and quality of the leaf , but for all purposes I have made a brew with Passion flower leaf too.

That leaf brew was upwards of 250 g of leaf . The caapi leaf brew I made was near that as well, but I don't think you really need it that high, it's just I like strong vine brews . The taste is bad . I can handle it because I have a strong tummy but.....I'd see lots of folks not letting this woody brew sit for too long . You could isolate it from the gram above , I would start around a 100 g to be safe , it could still be strong at that amount too, erowid has a nice page on studies done on caapi leaf with some leaf showing as much Maoi s as vine . But these I'm sure are collected from jungle grown vine. Also natives have said in the same site it is the taste is why they choose vine over leaf mostly.
Go figure .

As I've said I've tried it , it works , it's just heavy to taste and digestion. I'd do an extraction sometimes . If you had extreme quality leaf you maybe could only use 25 to 50 gram s , but I think this would be rare .
