Can smoking the spice damage lungs?

Smoked some of the elf spice last night coughed the last hit, now have a slight pain in my chest and aa irritablility coming from my lungs. Can you damage yourself smoking the spice?

inhaling smoke will damage your lungs no matter what you burn to create it. But your not likely to smoke enough spice in your lifetime to do significantly more damage than a lifetime of smoking tobacco. sounds like you have irritated your airways by coughing it up. Smoking cigars (or certain herbs) will do this to me if I cough with a lung full of smoke. It also helps to have clean spice. I'm not sure about this but I think it's a lot easier on the lungs if it is not yellow.

This spice is a dark orange. Pain almost gone now but has really worried me. Thanks for posting.
