caramel crystalized look to the pipe after smoking (pics inside)

Migrated topic.

I was advised by a friend to use naptha to make changa, which is what I did and it seems fine..? The naptha evaporates very cleanly and is used by many to hold DMT in solution before evaporation or precipitation so I can't imagine a problem. Any comments/ help? X

Acetone or alcohol will do a better job of cleaning out your pipe. Naphtha is more selective and won't dissolve oxidized spice so there will probably be some residue left behind.

Ok, so I understand that if my intention was to clean my pipe I'd be better using acetone or alcohol, but if I want to redissolve spice for use again would I use naptha?

Thanks bro.

Hi guys, has anyone ever tried to dissolve these recrystallised deposits in naptha/ solvent?
I have a home-made light bulb vaporiser that I used to vape my crystal the day I made it, it's got a coating of slightly orange crystal inside and I've been debating swilling some naptha around inside and then using that to make some infused herb changa.
What do you think?

This was your original question was it not? Sorry, I should've quoted this in my last comment.

Anyway acetone or alcohol works great for infusing on herbs. If you just want to recrystallize some spice than yes naphtha works fine.

Sorry for the late response everybody! but a friend of mines hit the pipe and he had a great trip into hyperspace so the recrystalized crystals in the pipe were def. still active and yes myself and friends are still getting used to smoking out of a pipe like this since i dont know anyone that has ever smoked meth so dont know anything about smoking out of a pipe like this but im going to take a week break from spice to think about my last trip and next time smoking out of it should be even better with the tips i just learned with the wet cloth and lighter on and off trick cause yea sometimes hitting it would get no vapor others would get tons of vapor prob more then i expected to get which put me out of this world! lol thanks everybody!!!! =)!!!

To be clear, alcohol and acetone work best at both cleaning your pipe as well as infusing changa. Naptha is good for recrystallization.

heres a great tip for your smoking method. keep a wet wash cloth near you when vaping. after each hit while your holding it in put the bulb on the wash cloth to cool it, ice cold water is best. this stops excess heat from building in the dmt liquid which tends to hold massive heat then burn. also if you notice the dmt will eventually just stop making vapor. this is because it has over heated. the wash cloth trick stops this from happening and keeps the vapor rolling on.

cheers

Wont there be the danger of the glass shattering from rapid temperature change?

As far as I know most glass pipes are meant to experience rapid temperature change. I think most are pyrex..?

Maybe I'm misunderstanding what the "bulb" of the GVG is, but if it's the curve in the neck before it goes horizontal, that part never gets too hot anyway, so I imagine the temperature change wouldn't be that drastic. If you're talking about where the DMT sits in the chamber, then that's a different story perhaps.

not if your using a pipe made for smoking. if its a light bulb or something half assed then maybe sure. thats why most pipes are made from pyrex or other like materials so then can handle the temp loads. another good reason no one should ever use a light bulb!!!!!

Sorry to hijack the thread a bit but I don't feel that I need to start a whole new topic just for this:
I have read that in general limonene can be a substitute for acetone, has this been used for making changa?
Thanks.

Afaik...limo is a poor substitute for acetone...and no, it can't be used for changa as it does not fully evaporate.
