A thread for psilocybe mushroom finds in the Pacific Northwest. (libs, cyans, etc etc.)

It ain't much, but it's a start! 😁

These (pretty sure they're cyan) pins were found this morning, i picked them because they were drying out and never would have dropped spores. These are very immature.

But still... WOOT!😁

Nice one null :)

On this morning of the autumnal equinox i noticed the first mushrooms of the season popping up in my garden, signaling that it's time to head out to the pastures and hopefully begin harvesting liberty caps.

I'm in the UK so won't be contributing any pictures to this thread but i'm subscribed and hope to see some beautiful pictures coming through...

I may have jumped the gun. These may not be ps spp at all. Possibly hypopholoma or agrocybe. Bummer.

This thread WILL be populated... Come on rain!

Dropped into this thread for the pics, too!

Peak district has been producing for a good couple of weeks already. But then, it starts in mid-July most years if you know where to look :)

Posted an ID request at the shroomery that came back...GALERINA!!!

SEE BOYS AND GIRLS THIS IS WHY WE I.D. FIRST. GALERINAS ARE DEADLY AND CLOSE LOOK ALIKES OF ACTIVES. I'd NEVER SEEN ONE BRUISE LIKE THAT EITHER...

Yes, it did look rather more... black than blue. Come to think of it, Stamets mentions this in one of his books. Galerinas bruise black.

Overenthusiastic misidentification of bruising could have led to an untimely demise... glad you stayed wise here, null24 (after all that you've been through - I've read several of your threads. Good to see you getting back on your feet now, my heart goes out to you!)

The warning is important enough to say again:

THIS IS WHY WE I.D. FIRST. GALERINAS ARE DEADLY AND CLOSE LOOK ALIKES OF ACTIVES.

Yeah, i'd love to live near the Peaks or in Wales and go hiking in the hills every weekend watching the season progress. I'm camping in Wales soon during the new moon, hopefully i'll find a handful of liberty caps and see the milky way one evening.

Back to the PNW :)

Well done for idenfying them first null

I had a dream recently where i picked some galerinas, compared to dreams where i'm picking liberty caps it was more of a nightmare really. With wild mushrooms knowing what you're picking is a must!

What cute little babies!

Still no Cyans in the city ( that I've seen) but here's an unidentified amanita. Found at a spot normally very prolific with muscaria, I've never gone this early. Wieird pale tan colored cap with little veil remnants, otherwise identical the muscaria.

Those are babies! Don't eat babies!

I gotta say y'all, I stared this thread with a psych out and the season continues to be bust in PDX. Seriously, I just want to find a awesome patch to spread the goodness around town. Something is present it missing here that leaves areas like the one in the pic below- MUSHIE FREE! AAAAGH!
