LOL, funny thread pandora. Great report. I have a dog that will always stick her face near mine, when smoking green, and then another, he'll get pissed off and start barking at you if you try to pass him the pipe or blow a hit his way. They seem to know what they like.

I'm not able to do this because I don't own a distillation apparatus. Could one of you awesome Nexians help me with a more kitchen friendly TEK?

I have naptha and 91% IPA on hand but I would buy another solvent if required..

I'm sorry Pandora. I must post this, because I feel guilty. I do not condone any drug abuse. Be it via animals or via humans. I've seen catnip make kittens go crazy and end up retarded (no, seriously) throughout their life. I cannot condone this. I think it's immoral as well. Hoever upon further reading (and with a little bit of self consciousness which I should have had) I understand it. I'm sorry Pandora about even "requesting" a punishment. Just things like this get to me, and it doesn't help that I was intoxicated....

Anyways, it sounds like a very fun time for your cats. Although I don't truly condone catnip (I think it's like giving crack to a crack head) I will say that if used right it can provide an awesome relationship with your feline companion.

They just use a pot here:

The catnip and water goes in the bottom of a big pot, with a cup placed on top. The lid is really the key component here; by simply turning the lid of the pot upside down, the vapors will condense and drip down from the center, collecting in the cup below. By filling the top of the lid with ice water, the vapors are condensed very efficiently.

I also looked into the extraction but stopped once I found out steam distilation was involved.

Now that i know about this method I might have to give it a shot. Extractions are fun!

I knew a guy who had some catnip extract. He dipped a cigarette in the extract and handed it to me. I held a lighter beneath and puffed it down right there. He said him and his g/f used to smoke cigs like that at work, since they couldn't smoke weed there. Big stoners, them two.

My experience: slightly relaxing, perhaps placebo, nothing to write home about. Then again, extract enhanced tabaco doesn't sound like it would nesesarily be stronger than str8 catnip leaf itself...so *maybe* a better technique might produce some results.

BTW, smoking banana peels does not get you high either.

One of our cats is a bleach-head (the vet says this is bad...). The other seven (yeah, you read that right) have mixed reactions to catnip. Some are totally indifferent, while others will tear open the bag and help themselves if nobody is around to serve it up.

Theoretically, I wonder if MJ could be bred that is so strong it would give you a buzz just by rolling around in it?

I've heard stories of people who where running naked through a weed plantage. Getting scratched by the plants inclusive.
Don't know if it works, but i can imagine that it could work if enough is absorbed through the skin.
