Chest tightening

Hi all!

I did my first Aya ceremony this weekend. I took two cups separated by a couple hours.

I felt great after my first cup. It was uncomfortable at times because it was so cold where I was. I felt a lot of love and felt Mother Aya take me over. I felt her pull my hand towards my chest to recognize that I must always let my light shine. I felt a lot of reprogramming in my brain. I felt like a baby in her arms as she played with me and gave me pure joy.

Second cup didn’t go so well as someone in my group had a long, violent freak out and I feared for my life. I was literally paralyzed and he came into my personal space. The rest of the night was a horrible trip as I just wanted him to stop and I wanted to be back in my body and in a safe space again.

Afterward, I am happy to be alive and still glad I participated in the ceremony. Since the ceremony, I’ve felt a heaviness in my chest. My mood is calm and compassionate. Any idea on what this heavy, tight feeling around my heart is?

Thank you and much love!

I can't tell you what it is... Therefore you would prob consult a doctor...
In my case I just can tell you that I was going to literally any kind of doctors which are about that region and they all couldn't find anything but all were mentioning that I shouldn't take it as hard as I do - psychologically speaking...
So this is also described in TCM and eastern beliefs as a heaviness of the heart...
For me I had this symptom about years!
Was literally freakin out too!
But I think it comes along with underlying issues - psychosomatically!
May you wanna think about why you wanted to take part in that ceremony etc...
Your mood may be calm and stuff but there is sometimes more undertheground....
Other than that considering you were takin ayahuasca and had a difficult fearful situation, may you were afraid of your well being as you said he was somehow violent...
You couldn't move may you were afraid of not be able to protect yourself, which could be a general issue... so it was for me....
Medicinally speaking there are tons of issues which share this symptom... but may you have just had lain uncomfortably while sleeping... you have a cough... whatever

Hello!

Just my opinion here: Extreme anxiety, your diaphragm could of been tight due to stress which leaves less room for the lungs to expand which results in tight chest, gasping for air, shortness of breath, pain. I myself had this a lot back in the days, it was caused by huge amounts of chronic stress, one night i had it so bad that i had to go to the hospital concerned that im dying and the doctors gave me diazepam and within few minutes i was back to normal. (I was 100% sober).

Tip: Research if MAOI/DMT interact with a benzo in anyway and if not then maybe keep one in your pocket just in case.
