Cigarette ashes for Yopo snuff?

Migrated topic.

Yopo seeds will be crushed up and left to collect dust until someone can shed some light on this topic.
There are a few sources claiming to use Ashes instead of lime, I was just wondering if cigarette ashes, although disgusting, in combo with baking soda would work for preparing the snuff?

I dont know if this is a good idea or will it make us sick? Or do nothing at all?
I know it sounds stupid question but its worth asking.

Hardwood ashes would be much better. Roasting snail shells until they turn into a white powder is also an option.

Using ash from pre-prepared industrial cigarettes indeed sounds pretty disgusting and IMHO is better avoided.

Why the baking soda?

Well the lime recipe calls for baking soda so I would assume you would need it for ash version.
I dont dare put lime up my nose so I think ash would be a good substitute as I read it contains calcium oxide or something like that. Cigarette ashes are easy for me to obtain because i am a smoker. But i will look into hardwood ash. Ill burn some hardwood.
Thanks for the quick reply.

Have you ever read how many milligrams of tar, nicotine and other compounds your cigarette has?
It can be said that many compounds and byproducts of combustion remain in the ashes.
I for the rapeh that I do with yopo I use bicarbonate and lemon, there is a frothy reaction in the cooking basin which indicates that the yopo is already activated.
