Clarify legal status of peyote

There is a lot of info on the Native American Church and the legality of religion. I would like some clarification on the legal status of different variations of the Lophopora species.

Is the Williamsii the only illegal one? What about Lophophora jourdaniana (just about the same %) and many other Lophopora's?

Lophophora jourdaniana is a sub species of williamsii, so its just as illegal as peyote since it is peyote.

And if they can prove its for human consumption, then it doesn't matter what species it is, just that it has the schedule one substance in it.

I see. So it's more like Lophophora is the rank species and anything underneath it is considered the same thing as peyote.
