Cleaning up a plant matter contaminated salt

I recently did a CIELO and got fumerate that was 3x what I expected based on previous harvests from the same plant. After I salted and reclaimed I saw that my EA had swirly clouds of what looked like plant matter in it. I looked in my EA vessel of "fresh" EA and saw the same clouds. I have used this EA a few times before.

My guess is that my mescaline harvest is boosted / contaminated by plant matter. I did filter my EA a bunch but it seems the plant matter is small enough to get through filters.

Anyone have any suggestions on how to separate the mescaline fumerate from the plant matter?

So I took this ands tried dissolving it in hot 99 iso. i filtered it then evaporated the iso (which looked super clear) and was left with some brown residue. just a tiny bit.

then i took what was captured in thw filter and dissolved in water. then filtered. the filtered water was kind of beige and smelllwd like mescaline

im now evaping that water.

in summarey

Hot iso99 did not seem to dissolve the mescaline

Maybe the water did?

any other ideas on how to separate the likely calcium fumaratw from the mescaline fumarate? i have a lot of it still. 10g. i only did the above on 3 g

My guess is that calcium fumarate is much less soluble in high proof ethanol/water mixture than mescaline fumarate.

Main question is what is the best proportions and that could be answered only by experimentation.

So I dissolved the mesc/calcium mixture in water and stirred filtered it. I then put the water in a tray to evaporate. The water grew a good amount of mold :( I don't know what the fuck is going on here.

How long did you have it evaporating? In general (I'm not completely sure if in this case too, but I think likely yes) it's better to evaporate water in a hot water bath, so it can evaporate in a few hours. Else it will take a long time, unless it's not that much water and you live in a hot and dry climate.

If what you have is actually moldy, it may be better to count it as a loss. Many molds can produce toxins that resist being boiled. I'm not sure if doing an A/B extraction would get rid of them, maybe someone else can. But in case of doubt, avoid anything with mold.

Mold is of course very unfortunate, but would be interesting to know what happened when you dissolved it in water? How undissolved material looked like?
