Closing your eyes during the come up

It´s a very dramatic, instantaneous effect.

This is frankly quite funny, with eyes closed the effects generally seems to be more pronounced than with your eyes open, IF the dosage isn't high enough.Personally this is around 20mg~ where OEV's are intense and CEV's otherwordly but on 30mg~ I have left my body and there is no eyes to speak of.

In terms of visual effects it may not matter whether you have your eyes open or not. But in terms of brainwaves it does matter, because any visual stimulus will cause a shift from lower frequency´s towards beta-waves. In a totally darkened place it doesn´t matter ofcourse..but any visual stimulus will make your journey more hectic and chaotic, will make you remember less of it and will cause you to have more feelings of discomfort.

Do you record your experiences in any way such as; Duration of time, peak,plateu,baseline, physical sensations i.e adrenaline, euphoria etc. ?

I used to get nausea more often from DMT and that was during a period of my "DMT career" when I was loading up larger doses and probably doing a little burning.

Is there any foolproof way to avoid burning DMT anyway? Without being in risk of insufficiency regarding the time it takes to heat and the product to completely vaporize?

Use a GVG. Try and get as much as you can in a single hit. Maybe 2 tops. The longer you apply heat the more risk it will burn. The "thicker" your pile of DMT in the chamber, the more likely it might burn which goes hand in hand with large doses.

I always try to write down my journeys (theres a few in the trip report section). After my first journey i thought that loosing these experience would be doing myself a diservice so i try to jot them down.

I dont relly time my journeys but i have timed my friends. 2 of them seem to have consistant durations under the influence, A is normally back in the room after 4-4.5 mins and B is normally out for 6 mins, these seem to be quite standard for them and they are rarely gone for less or more time.

Hm, I'll have to try a pitch black setting to see for sure, these statements got me somewhat intrigued

I haven't done any large doses of DMT in darkness because of safety concerns with the hot-to-touch machine and lighter needing a safe place to be put after administrating the substance but I'll definently try it out with a sitter for this purpose in the future

Use a GVG

I really don't fancy the GVG because of the price, design and well the vapors seem to be quite hot when vaporising dmt in a pipe because of the small chamber/short stem:/ I'm Using a homemade Machine for the moment and it's just great in everyway, cool & visible vapor I don't see how the GVG can possibly be better but I'm up for debate on that matter!

I still don't see the "point" of a pipe though, I don't think I've read about anyone NOT reporting about harsh and plastic tasting DMT when using one. So what's the deal?

This has somewhat derailed from the original subject, however I still find it relevant and interesting and encourage more people to answer it if they can!

many (perhaps old-schoolers) find a glass pipe the easiest method to 'freestyle' the dosage, or achieve breakthrough via the 'ascending altitude' technique (i.e. as many inhalations as needed or possible)

ps. surely there are glass-blowers even in nazi-land?

pps. if it is not in a dark room/space, i would always recommend closing eyes 'during the come up' to avoid distractions and cues..

Terrence do refers to the smoked DMT as harsh and plastic tasting in some interviews along with others, IF I get harsh and plastic tasting smoke I know from experience I probably burned it.

However, while on the subject technique I find the "facts" on how long one should hold his lungfulls quite controversial since some people of the community recommends more than 10seconds of holding it in? I usually end up taking 2-3 tokes, holding them for 3-5 seconds, ending up on a total time from 20-25sec of administering the substance. While I do achieve good results I'm still hesitant whether the technique is the most efficient or not.

I usually try to get it done in two big tokes... one if possible so by the time I exhale on my last toke I should be on my way to hyperspace. The way I can tell I'm about to blast off is everything starts vibrating, gets a wave like motion to it, or starts shimmering... I then know that I need to close my eyes for the ultimate ride.

Personally I wouldn't know for sure but 7-10 seconds should do the trick. It does the trick for me... if you can hold even longer than that then rock on... I can hold for 10-15 seconds sometimes it's just on how you go into the inhale. I usually do a really big inhale of air, a really big exhale, light the bowl and do a really big inhale, hold for around 3-4 seconds then do another quick inhale of just air to sorta push the smoke down my lungs. At around the 7-10 second mark (sometimes 15) I exhale and by then I'm seeing the room breath.... If I can do this two times then I know for sure I'm hyperspace bound but it usually takes just one of these exercises to get me where I need to be. 8)

i personally like nobody to be around me, eyes closed and fully nude laying on my back or full/half lotus. i initially try to meditate and let the dmt become me, once i breakthrough and become buddha i let the chanting begin. rom rom rom rom

setting is huge, if you change the way you launch you will land in a different part of hyperspace. that's how i feel anyways.

Interesting, because that is my preferred method as well.
I like to hot shower, then get into a soft comfortable bed nude because clothes are constraining. Lately, I have not taken the time to meditate though. I find if I meditate that spice just returns me to myself ( hard to explain but thats what it feels like.) If I just lie back in bed and fairly quickly go for the dose without taking the time to meditate I'm finding that its far more spontaneous and is working better for me.

When I blast off, I usually hold it in for about 10-15 seconds or so. I haven't had to take a third toke in the last 40-50 trips. If I have not got the whole dose in one hit I usually will always get it in the second. By the time I get the second hit in I have usually forgotten I have eyes let alone what eyes are.. Rarely will I even remember exhaling the last toke.

If you exhale and you can still see vapor, it means you can still hold it in for a bit longer. Sometimes I release a very small "test-exhale" to see if I can still see vapor or not. If I can, I know I have to hold it in more. This usually takes around 15 seconds for the max absorption to happen for me.

In regards to the GVG, you can fancy it, don't fancy it, I really don't care, but if you're having trouble with the harshness/taste, then you should know it could very well be the solution to your problems. Also, so you should know, just because it's harsh or tastes unpleasant doesn't necessarily mean you burned it.
