Cold smoke - Less lung damage?

Hey all
As a non smoker (no cigerattes, weed, etc...) I find that I cough a lot while ingesting both spice straight and as enhanced leaf. This, I can tell you, gives some every strange vibes when your charging headfirst into L-space!!!!(the space between spaces).

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to lessen the chaos on my lungs everytime I travel?

I was thinking of building a small bucket contraption, just on a smaller scale (yes, i might have ingested the ol' marijuana at some point to have aquired this knowledge) as this would allow me to trap the smoke and give it time to cool as
nd hopefully go down a little easier.

Would this help, or would it lessen its potency?

Been hearing contradictory reports on the ol' vapour genie. I have a mate who swears by it and yet many people here say that you will cough your lungs out...

Any advice always appreciated.

If it gets too cold, cooling your smoke will almost unquestionably result in premature (and forgive me, I don't know the correct term) precipitation/recrystalization of DMT out of your vapor. That is, your DMT is gonna wind up in your cooling chamber instead of your lungs.

I've heard people talk about using bongs efficiently, I assume the water adequately cools the smoke/vapor without getting too cold, I'd stay away from adding ice or the like...

I'd say bong over cooling chamber, just cuz you're not gonna want your vapor just "hangin out" in your chamber, but that's just me. Smoking method is definitely something that each person has to work out for themselves.
 
Bubbling works great. SWIM's not a smoker and never coughs as long as he doesn't burn it or heat it over-zealously (which should never happen with the proper methods and a little knowhow). A bubbler with a machine-style bubbler piece of some kind can get a bit hot, but isn't harsh at all if carbed frequently for the duration of the draw (immediately after the chamber fills). SWIM's managed to get the hang of any variation of the machine used with a bubbler, but he developed and switched to the inspirator fairly recently, which produces the coolest and smoothest vapor SWIM's ever had. The inspirator is basically a homemade vapor genie that works with a bubbler and without a leafbed.

SWIM recently made a mini-bubbler out of a test tube, some pvc and (thanks amor-fati) an medicine dropper. The condensation is no more than in the machine, the machine maybe (somehow) produce more residue, SWIM's glass mouthpiece on his old machine is caked with yellow n-n-dmt-oxide.

though in the bubbler the smoke is much better, SWIM said after his first try "like air with a dmt aftertaste" very nice in fact.
 
I've used ice in a bong before and didn't notice any more recrystallization happening than without, and it definitely makes for a cooler smoke. I think whatever loss you'll experience is probably pretty negligible. The Vaporgenie, when used correctly, is smoove as butta. Believe it.

Regardless of your delivery system, my recommendation is to pick up some liquid mullein extract at your friendly neighborhood health food store. A dropper full a minute or to before you take your hits can make a significant difference.

SWIM has a bunch of mullein, being a non-smoker he was surprised how harsh it was. It's toted as tasteless and smooth. Anyway, could he do a simple extraction on it, anyone know? or should he just tough it out, it's supposed to be good for the lungs...
 
Another Vote for IceBong..

SWIM uses a large glass bong filled with ice and also a carbon adapter if required...

With both the Ice & the Active carbon it hardly feels like your breathing in anything at all..

As I suspected, there is no hard fast way of sorting this out.
I see some experimentation on the horizon, along with with really amusing coughing fits.:x :x

Ice bong sounds good but ill try everything on here and get back to ya once ive tried 'em all.

Just use a bong with your infused leaf. There is no crystallization of the spice vapor and it is pretty much insoluble in the cooling water. Cooled smoke allows you to hold it for longer and get a better result vs uncooled. Don't bother with mullein that shit gives you a bad headache the next day if you have more than two bowls. With a bong your smoke will be very cool and easy to use.

seems to be the simplest solution out there.
Im just a big pussy with the lungs of an 8year old girl who has lived in a bubble for most of those years. :cry:
 
Haha I think you will manage. Just try a few smaller amounts and build up as you get more comfortable with the feeling, and the water bong will make that as easy for you as possible.
