Hi all,
I have found a few medical studies that indicate that Curcumin (turmeric) is a potent MAOI.

It seems that its effects are also potentiated by Piperine (black pepper).

Would it be possible to do ayahuasca with turmeric and black pepper and Mimosa Hostilis? Has anyone tried?
Can anyone more experienced in pharmacokinetics see any potential issues?
Best regards,
PaperJack.
I have found a few medical studies that indicate that Curcumin (turmeric) is a potent MAOI.
Antidepressant activity of curcumin: involvement of serotonin and dopamine system - PubMed
The study provides evidences for mechanism-based antidepressant actions of curcumin. The coadministration of curcumin along with piperine may prove to be a useful and potent natural antidepressant approach in the management of depression.
Antidepressant activity of aqueous extracts of Curcuma longa in mice - PubMed
Curcuma longa (turmeric) is a well-known indigenous herbal medicine. The aqueous extracts, when administered orally to the mice from 140 to 560 mg/kg for 14 days, were able to elicit dose-dependent relation of immobility reduction in the tail suspension test and the forced swimming test in mice...

Influence of piperine on the pharmacokinetics of curcumin in animals and human volunteers - PubMed
The medicinal properties of curcumin obtained from Curcuma longa L. cannot be utilised because of poor bioavailability due to its rapid metabolism in the liver and intestinal wall. In this study, the effect of combining piperine, a known inhibitor of hepatic and intestinal glucuronidation, was...
