Im in middle of the extraction and i realized that i screwed up and my bottle is to small,so im asking how necessary is it to top up the solution with 140ml of water after basifying?
Rather than messing with the proportions, why not just wait and find a larger container? Luckily there's no time limit on bark extractions.
Reducing the volume of liquid makes the whole thing thicker and probably increases your chances of forming an emulsion, at which point you'll end up adding water to get rid of it. Also, if there's no room for water, how do you plan on adding the solvent to pull the actives?
I agree waiting to find a larger container would be best. I ordered an 1 liter Erlenmeyer flask off amazon, took about a week to arrive but it's worth the wait in my opinion. Heat resistant too.
