Hi all! I wanted to post here about SWIM's recent experiment. A little background first. SWIM started out with a Vapor Bat which worked but wasn't too keen on the whole copper or steel mesh. Next moved on to classic VaporGenie. Big difference in results but SWIM has a problem with the classic because it can never be really cleaned. Lots of residuals. SWIM has really enjoyed being on a semi-private area on the beach for his trips. The rolling waves, the hypnotic sound of the water, and the endless horizon all play a part in keeping SWIM from feeling anxious. So the idea of using any kind of flame kind of went out the window. Btw, SWIM also likes being home on a comfy couch with eyes closed. Anyway, SWIM decides to go the vaporizer route. His purchase was the DaVinci Ascent. Pricey but so worth it. At first there were quite a few failed attempts. The ascent comes with 2 glass jars that get inserted into the heat chamber. Not sure why at this time but they didnt work at all. SWIM then decided to get grain alcohol and make some changa. This was a success but here is where the lightbulb went on. Why dissolve in alcohol and soak herbal blend then wait for a day or 2 for evaporation. So he decided to fill the DaVinci about 2/3 full of an herbal blend (this particular blend was Damiana, chamomile, lemon balm). He heated the chamber up to about 120°F then turned the vaporizer off. Then took a weighed amount and gently poured it on top of the herbs. They slowly melted in. After about 10 minutes SWIM turned the ascent back on. He was able to inhale for about 25-30 seconds. Barely any plastic smell if any, just a light scent of the herbs. All SWIM can remember is that upon exhaling he had trouble hitting the power button to turn it off. He thinks he is going to like the fact that it has an auto shutoff
During the trip SWIM felt blessed that he was called to this place and felt privilaged and honored to be allowed to see what was before his closed eyes. Hopefully this post will provide the simplest way to use the DaVinci.
Ciao!
