I guess they are Panaeolus cyanescens
Were they growing on manure?

Pan cyans are copraphiliacs (they grow on dung)...also:

  • Cap: 1.5 – 4 cm across, dry, at first hemispheric, expanding to campanulate to convex, with an incurved margin when young. Young caps start out light brown and fade to off-white or light gray at maturity, sometimes with yellowish or brownish tones. Often developing cracks in dry weather, slightly hygrophanous, turning greenish or blue where damaged.
  • Gills: Broadly adnate to adnexed attachment, close, starting out gray and turning black as the spores mature. Gill faces with a mottled appearance, edges white.
  • Spores: Jet Black, 12 - 15 x 7 - 11 µm, smooth, opaque, elliptical. With a germ pore.
  • Stipe: 7 – 12 cm long by 2 to 3 mm thick, equal to slightly enlarged at the base, pruinose, colored like the cap, staining blue where bruised.
  • Taste: Farinaceous.
  • Odor: Farinaceous.
  • Microscopic features: Basidia 4 spored, pleurocystidia fusoid-ventricose, cheilocystidia 12 x 4 µm.

Hey there I live in Colorado too..

I have found cubensis growing here but all VERY weak

as far as I know pan cyan does not grow here and I don't believe those are them,,,

But if they are them...do let us know that would be really exciting, I have always wanted to try pan cyan

Yeah it's raining like crazy...

The shrooms I have found were up in gueneuella pass and in the broomfield boulder area along highway 36...growing on cow poo

I got some near rocky flats once time.. (not real near) and I took a print and cultivated them...I shit you not it created two headed mushrooms (reminded me of the simpsons),,,and they were very strong once I cultivated them in jars...but straight out of the pasture they are real WEAK...

I have even found them on top of table top moutain

now that I think about it I have heard people talk about finding pan cyan growing in golden, co
I just have been to afraid of getting the wrong thing to go looking
