Hello, I decided to make a dreaming thread for myself. This won't be a dream journal just a place for discussions about dreams. Feel free to talk about your own dreams here as well if you'd like.

So last night I went to bed thinking deeply about Amanitas and go figure I dreamed about them. What was cool about my dream was how it incorporated linear story and strong characterization of other dream entities personality. It wasn't choppy or random but a space where things follow linear dialogue. I don't remember all the details.. but that's to be expected. I remember present through the dream were the use of Amanitas; everyone had a used bag of them. I remember different people having them but I dont think i ate any in the dream and I recall they were significant but I don't recall how or why.

I also played roles as other dream entities including a female authority figure on a bike in some random street/down town city that used a megaphone? I wasn't connected to the police rather just authority in general.

I woke up around 7 am and estimated this was a 6 hour REM sleep. I went back to bed and had another dream where I remember walking through a hallway with rooms to the side with sliding glass doors (3 or 4) down the hallway; sort of like a hospital. In the side rooms I briefly saw rooms (bedrooms) that were dark and undefined but cluttered a little.

I remember going outside of the building (it's like either a college campus or kind of a hospital... I remember perhaps earlier there being a bunch of people in the building (and it looked different then) - all men. It was like a hospital or jail at that moment earlier) and outside on the other end there was a version of myself that was a copy that came after me like a zombie type threat. I retreated back inside and locked the doors and searched for weapons (and found them) and the threat went away. I even went back outside, it was gone

Awesome 2 dreams, lots of layers to it; everything led to the next and most of it followed a pattern or linear story. Sorry my recall isn't good enough at the moment to share the details in sharper clarity. I only reclaimed a fraction of my dreams details - I may start writing dreams down in a journal and try to stick to it

this was way cooler than I make it sound and I had full conversations with others and remember different layers of the dream incorporating a few different settings

The other night I was watching baseball on TV with my dad. As I don’t much like sports on TV, I decided heading off to bed in the ninth inning with the score tied would make some sort of point. So, I go into the bathroom to brush my teeth, and when I try to flick on the lights, nothing happens. I try the other switch and still can’t get the lights to come on.* I turn to the camera and say “this is a dream.” Everything that was so normal and familiar starts to dissolve. My dad passed away long ago. The living room we were watching TV in was from my childhood; the bathroom I am in is of my current home. To confirm I’m dreaming, I pinch my nose closed,** I can still breath through my nose. This is absolutely a dream. I yell out, “I’m dreaming.” ***

After a moment of indecision on what to do, I go to the living room, take my dad by the hand and tell him we’re going flying. We pass through the front door without bothering to open it. The neighbourhood from my youth is in front of us and we take to the nights sky. My wife joins us and we take a nice systematic trip around the block as I remember it growing up.**** As we complete the loop, I can’t hold on any longer and I slowly wake up.

*Since I was a kid I’ve had this reoccurring situation in my dreams where I’m scared of the dark and can’t turn on the lights. Now I recognize it as a dream. It’s a sure way to enter a lucid dream.

**Pinching my nose and still being able to breath is a pretty standard way to test if I’m dreaming. But, more importantly, it ensures I have a body in the dream. I’ve had some dreams where they are mostly thought dreams or I’m just a spectator. Having a body is way better.

***Doing wild things in my dream is wonderful, but the moment that things that were so normal switch into fanciful nonsense of a dream hits me the hardest.

****One cool thing about lucid dreams is once I become lucid, I remember the dream almost as well as real life experiences. I have the sense that the dream was going on quite some time before I headed to the bathroom but I can’t recall.
