Depending how the question is being asked. There's a good chance that considering you've been pondering on this for a while that it is more than just a question. Dmt can help you surface an underlying issue/concern or something that is hindering your energy flow in some way. It may not be what you expect, but i think the most important thing with dmt is what you take away from it - and how you work through it. The more specific your focus, and the more clarity you can create, the closer you will arrive to your desired outcome.
The only times I have ever tried to ask a question that I wanted answered the spice responded by instantly changing its attitude to a more menacing one. It seems that every time I try to ask my own questions it firmly lets me know that it has a plan of its own.

On good solid doses of the smoked variety the experience facilitated tends to transcend any sort of questions.. even the bigger, existential-type questions. Visiting the realms of the interior the rules of the intellect and values of everyday material existence just compound the confusion, so pretty much any questions imposed onto the experience tend to immediately wash away in the face of the experience....like the tide constantly coming in to wash away the sand.

As mentioned above. While you're actually tripping dont try and control your mind too much/ if at all. Set up the feeling before hand - then relax and let it go completely before you start the trip. Trying to forcibly construct a thought while youre tripping is like putting boulders in a free flow of water rapids.

last spring when i was smoking low doses almost everyday, i had to face the problem of deciding to move into a new house or not. i figured i mine as well meditate on it
so i drank a bit of rue in a fruit smoothie with melatonin as usual, and then proceeded to smoke changa (with a hint of superb weed) and meditate to some nice music..At one point i had a complex series of thoughts, at the end of which i was intrigued enough to say out loud to myself "maybe i should just stay here" (i.e. in this house)..Literally 2 seconds after saying that sentence the door to my room slammed shut. it was pretty creepy but sort of in a good way, like the house or universe (or just the wind!) agreed with and affirmed my decision

In a full blown breakthrough you are not 'conscious' enough to ask a question. You are too taken away from the experience itself. I wouldnt say your higher self 'takes over' - you are more so really just put in the back seat. Really though, there is only one way to find this all out for yourself. Just keep a smile and some serious appreciation and gratitude loaded and on hand incase things get too much, they are always my safety nets. What is right for one person may not be right for the next. You seem good natured. So let that carry you.

Anyway, as per asking a question in an experience and having it answered, I can think of at least one occasion where this happened. I was sitting in my room, and took my hits, closed my eyes, and got stuck in this relatively low-level (yet intense all the same) loop. It just kept looping through the same scenes, most of which I had seen in the past, so nothing new. I was growing rather bored, and so since I usually don't try to communicate questions or anything of the sort during the experience, as I'm usually very passive, I decided to experiment a bit.
I had had a number of Egyptian themed experiences in the past that always piqued my interest and so, I posed the question to it, "What can you tell me about Egypt?" --- Nothing happens. It just keeps looping. So I calmly restate my question twice more (at this point not really expecting much to happen). After restating (in my head) the question a third time, "What can you tell me about Egypt," all of a sudden the loop stops and the whole experience begins escalating dramatically. Sure enough it throws me headfirst into some of the most beautiful Egyptian visions before culminating in a godhead experience. I was taken extremely off guard as this was the first godhead experience I ever had without any harmalas, and I had only loaded up 20mg. So the response to my question wasn't really a verbal one, but they still answered in style as they tend to do.

Whoa Universe Cannon! :shock:That does sound creepy, the Universe is definetly on your side. And this was a breakthrough or no? See this is what i'm more interested in, i'd like to save a breakthrough experience for a very special "just right" moment, but if i can use the lower doses and gets results like this that's what i'll do i guess to begin my journey's, So there's no entities in the lower doses or is it possible maybe with the help of some harmalas?.Can the scenery of the trip be telepathic and show you stuff or is it just trippy in the low dose?
No it wasn't a breakthrough where this happened..like i said, i was meditating on a low dose of caapi changa + cannabis (on top of some harmalas/melatonin). This combination, especially when used during complex music and yoga/meditation, is very conducive to some profound insights IME- in a way thats similar to mushrooms
Entity encounters are more frequent with medium/sub-breakthrough doses of dmt than lower ones, of course. And yes, harmalas always help. With enough oral harmalas a low dose of dmt can take you to some wierd places. But the encounters on lower doses are much different from higher doses. like the difference between glimpsing something 20 ft below the murky surface of the water, and viewing the thing full blown and in you're face without any obstructions.

sometimes, sure.. but its different than full blown visions. when pushing this you can begin to enter low dose places where you're thoughts consistently become more and more visually oriented, and this can sort of take off on auto-pilot where the imagination/mind starts turning inside out in a sense
anyways, i've asked a bunch of questions while breaking through..but stuff like that never goes on in anything similar to normal consciousness and is hard for me to english the synesthesia/thoughtchitecture mode

So for that week i imagined smoking the dmt you know i had smoked it like a hundred times in my mind that week, and like remembering skydiving i think i removed a lot of the anxiety.
So i thought to myself about my past ventures, and decided that if anything what i really wanted to receive from this dose was
That i would love to see a FULLY FORMED ENTITY, and i had one question about DMT i would love answered.
These two things were set in my mind days before partaking.
So the day came and all i could think about was the anxiety, and actually having to rip it.
So while getting ready to smoke it all i could think of was smoking it. LOL
I smoked the 50mg crystal, This was my second breakthrough, An ENTITY blasted down from the sky in a cloud of colour it was REAL like i have never seen, like a transformer if they were real;
It proceeded to explain something to me, through some type of movement/dance which i conveyed in my head as speech, it answered my question.!
How much i influenced this?
Was it just simply the answer i wanted to hear?
IT has been 5 months since that last ceremony, want to smoke again but?? yet.
I now FEEL that i must enter DMT with at least a little preparation.
And that how i have smoked it in the past, IMPROMPTU, was ok until now having realised that it is for so much more.
I MEAN THE SHAMANS ONLY USE THIS STUFF FOR KNOWLEDGE, I AM SURE THEY NEVER USE IT FOR NO REASON

A friend of mine went in specifically with a question on my behalf, namely, seeking help regarding some health concerns of mine. Apparently she met an entity, who then took her on a tour of sorts, showed her many wonderous things, and came to her on multiple subsequent journeys. The advice she brought back did not prove helpful in any way that I have yet to discern though.
I can't remember if she named him, or if he told her his name. She also said he came to her later in dreams.----
Another time I had posed a question...and got a mocking and cruel answer, one that really hurt. Made me feel betrayed for a little while. But it was the truth. I eventually accepted it.
