i have no direct experience with this sort of thing, but it is my understanding that a few times glossolalia has been successfully translated (when not an unknown language/gibberish).

speaking in tongues sounds like fun to me. The body is saying it can communicate without any real intent on doing so?
People have been recorded doing so for a while right? if it cant be translated maybe it's not always meant to be.
