Greetings,
I have a friend who's sister in law wants to do Ayahuasca but is on Dialysis for Kidney. Anyone have any idea on the safety of this?

Thanks

Thats a hard question to answer.

Theres basically 3 types of dialysis- haemofiltration, hemodialysis and continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis.

Theres lots of causes of chronic renal failiure requiring renal replacement therapy (ie 'dialysis'); the aetiology of the CRF is important to know.Plus theres the issue of the (usually numerous) medications the chronic renal failiure patient will be one (depending partly on the cause and also on the resulting complications)which will have a large bearing on whether its safe or not to use aya etc.

For these reasons, a clear yes/no answer is not possible to give.

Thanks for that response Corpus Callosum. I am waiting the original person that wrote to me to write back on the details. I sent them a copy of what you wrote on the specifics and can only guess they wrote to their sister in law to find out.

As with all things I practice caution before application. So it is very helpful for practical purposes for me to know the safety of this. Going off the tips of my fingers, I would say it would be nothing but therapeutic but don't know for sure.

Seems Chanca Piedra would be a good pre treatment for kidney. But I know nothing on Dialysis. Some areas are complete shadows still to me. Looking for a flash light in the help of others.

Thanks!
