This is intended as a sort of poll as to WHEN and HOW you came to experience the spice for the first time.

I'll start...or at least I'd better....

I'd heard of the spice around a decade ago....I think back then there were analogues still being offered as nootropics...I know various phenylmethylamines ....I *think* I spelled that right...were available...the 2-C family at least...before people who were incapable or unwilling of knowing their drugs before they took them ruined it for those willing to research them first.

My situation did not allow me to do more than research at that point, and a good thing it was. At that point I was well involved with the "party" aspect and overdid most of what I did....in short I may well have been one of the previously mentioned sort...or at least would've lacked the respect necessary.

Many years later was actually researching herbs to add to an absinthe mix to make it into the more mythical experience it has been reported to produce and ran back into aya, pharmy, DMT notions. Obviously they will not work in this context...alcohol and MAOI...even RIMA's are a bad mix, I know.

The candle had been lit again but it was not until a conversation at work hit upon the research I had been doing. The funny thing is...HE brought it up. Apparently he had heard something on Coast-to-Coast AM dealing with MHRB, Terrence McKenna, and the Elves....not sure exactly what they had said...or he for that matter as he is very Rasta and I only glean a basic understanding of his words but we knew we were talking of the same thing. Still it seemed very odd that the external world was now pointing me right back at something bubbling around internally.

This seemed to strike a golden chord with me so I ordered some material and set about my purpose. A few weeks later and I can at least say I've heard it's whisper, there is still a great deal of conversation left to be had however.

I just thought it interesting that IT seemed to pick a time and place when I was ready to receive the message.

Anyone else feel this way?

Yes. For me it came suddenly. I was experiencing with Salvia and suddenly the Nexus appeared in front of my eyes. Someone got me into McKenna. I've heard about ayahuasca before but was scared to death because it sounded so amazingly DEEP...lets not say creepy that I told myself, bot to touch that stuff. But then, I read up on DMT and had a strong feeling that it would be good. I couldn't shake that alien contact idea from me, beeing very interested in anthropology of culture. No other psych seemed to offer this in that extend....so it began...and is still beginning 2 years later.

Heheh...I have to agree with the pull of alien contact notion...being an H.P. Lovecraft fan it rings strong chords with much of his writings and I often wished for *SOME* truth in his words...LOL...maybe not ALL....Spiritually I have come to align myself closer to his "world" however and as age crept up on me felt the world colder and less...."alive"...To be honest I guess in that respect I want to be proven wrong...To some degree I find greater comfort in the idea of "You just die...it's over, that's it"....but feel like that would be such a waste.

I did alot of research into philosophy, religion, the occult and what not and found most of it empty...so really wanted to find a "light at the end of the tunnel"....

...Well at least I've found the tunnel at this point....

I was quiet narrow minded. I have a friend who liked the spice, he was telling me about it over MSN messenger. "He went to another dimension" & "He met with a higher being" Bulls*it I told him, you never left your bedroom. As the months past he kept telling me about it & told me to watch "Joe Rogan" on YouTube. He explained it a bit better than my friend & I decided to aquire some spice. I had to get it hyperpunted to me, because my friend lives 400000000 lightyears away. It came through the hyperpunt in a wrap of tinfoil. My eyes were opened. Me & a friend had a night in trying the spice before we really knew anything about it. Which I think made it better, more of a surprise. Needless to say we get together once a month, to delve in to hyperspace. We'd heard about breaking through, yet didn't really know what that meant, the Spice was always good. But we just knew there was more to it. two nights ago we both broke through & I can't wait to get upgraded in this forum to post my experience.

I first read about DMT about 8 years ago, I bought a little taste from a guy that extracted it from a grass. I didnt have any clue as to how to smoke it, so that take off was a miss, fast forward to last year and I finaly got to extracting my own:)

you can post it here First steps in Hyperspace - Welcome to the DMT-Nexus

I would love to hear about it.

First read about it in Fear and Loathing, researched it. But never heard about it being around. Then at a festival it tented next to me and was gifted onto me.

When? I was ready.

How? It came to me.

I heard about it from various songs I've heard over the years.

Then I stumbled on beautiful knowledge. Then utilized said knowledge...

and the rest is far from history :)

Its so strange how came to posses the spice...first time was tripping and heard classic rave tune the "spice must flow" but thought it referred to maryj but over years I grew older and stopped taking LSD and pot as a party thing. Then I came across DMT I guess through Terence Mckenna but also bands like the Doors kept up the quest so to speak. Then I got proactive never heard of DMT for sale in UK or anyone using it .But after many searches for extraction guides and ingredients I started to hope I may be within reach. then things got kinda weird as I heard a voice loud and clear saying you'll meet your provider. Especially strange as with no VISA purchasing said ingredients on net was gonna be impossible. Anyway a few weeks later I'm having a particularly deep conversation with my drug counsellor it turns out he was bigger head than i thought but after having a heart attack has bags of the raw ingredients he no longer dares use. well now its mine. So thanks little voice........Tee hee.

Spice came into my life during three different eras, and each time it indicated that it had arranged things to happen. The exact same thing happened with LSD for me.

First two times with spice, strangers called my phone and told me a friend (different each time) suggested they talk to me. Third time, I accidented upon the Nexus after a search for something completely random.

over the summer of 2009 i felt *weird poppings* in my head and was was convinced it was "UFOs" looking down on me poking me in the head.

I NEVER heard of spice until a MUFON newsletter talked about ancient cultures using DMT to meet "spirits" which acted like aliens. this was September 2009. The article mentioned The Spirit Molecule, which I instantly read and wanted to make plans to go to the Amazon for some ayahuasca (i was very intimidated by the random "teks" i found online at sites MUCH shadier the the nexus, and i'm not much of a cook).

Then in October at work (which is a youth counseling service!), i was handed a flier on saliva--which i had ALSO never heard of !!! The flier FREAKED ME OUT because at the very bottom it mentioned "strange meetings with entities and aliens" as a "symptom." Naturally i saw this as an obvious invitation and the next morning ran to my cpu to learn more. voila!
i found The Nexus and my new home...

As a young person. Right after I saw "The Matrix" when it first came on VHS in the year 2000.

I asked person I knew whether there really was some higher level of existence or not.
And also if there were some ways to get "hyper skillz" like in martial arts and other things
through loopholes in the universe.

That person told me a lot about the human brain and its interaction on time, space and matter.
He explained to me some of the mushroom/LSD ideas and values. Both on philosophic and physical levels.

7 years later I took my first cup of psilocybin-tea with an important person.
I then felt how there were other perspectives on the universe.

1 year later smoked a proper amount of salvia-D for the first time, also with the help of a fundamental character in my life. The result was a life changing experience, still shrouded by mystery.

The coming weeks all point towards me smoking pure-quality DMT for the first time in a relaxed setting with a small group of loved friends of mine concentrating on my wellness and luck.

I certainly have the feeling that the spice is picking me. Not by chance but through discipline.

i was in the middle striking conversation with a guy around my age with a long beard. I was visiting some old high school friends back home. After drinking a great tea of mushrooms and lotus flower we spoke in great depth about the spice and he pulled from his pocket what he said was one dose of the spice wrapped in paper with strange drawings on it.

He introduced me to the spice and i have never heard from or seen him again.

I basically felt like everything from this dimension had shrunk to a small dot on the centre of my visual field just as i was lighting the bong up for a second hit as well as being pulled from my body at light speed. All that mixed up with a "menthol" feeling in my lungs........ Then I remember having seen some crazy random visuals.
Like traveling through multiple layers of existence. I was on a roller-coaster of visuals and emotions.
As i was coming back i somehow thought that i was something else than myself.. i thought i was my two friends in the same small nasty room. I had no memories of my own existence.. When I came back. I felt how i was trapped inside my body once again. It gave me the itches from my long hair and polyester clothing. and i ran home to take a shower. Both laughing and scared.

My friends told me that I had been climbing all over the room, dancing inside the curtains and something. Falling over both in awe, laughing and also looking scared.

Next time i smoke Salvia, It will be in the beautiful nature.

One aspect on how it changed my life.. I have never had long hair since then!

It found me with purpose. No doubt.

After completing volunteer work in the Dominican this Winter, I had come back more enlightened than ever, but there was still a piece missing. I was struggling assimilating back to American life, after the extreme culture shock that I had faced during my travels. I was so naive to how incredibly vast and amazing our planet is, in addition to the wondrous variety of its inhabitants.

My experiences with psychedelics had been moments of deeper self exploration, but I had never been "there". Many times when on lowish doses of whatnot, I would be wishing for something even deeper, wishing "take me further." It wasn't until DMT that I had the blessing of experiencing ego loss.

I would not have been ready before the Dominican. It came to me about a month after, my spirit had just gone though such a positive awakening, it was ready for more. I was ready, ready to further the maturation of my spirit. It came at the perfect time, it wanted to find me, and I'm so happy it did.

Spice absolutely called swim to it. No question. Spice came along one day and grabbed swim by the neck and yelled out to him, "Hey dude, wake the fuck up! Your destiny is here!".

Seriously though, one day 10 years ago swim saw the letters DMT on a webpage in some obscure corner of the net, and intuitively he JUST KNEW that spice would play a immense role in his life.

Incredible how the spice finds us -- when ready.

I remember the loop which brought me here and I'm amazed at it all.

More incredible, the relationships I have formed as a result of the Spice.

My life has taken on new meaning and set new goals.

Even more incredible -- the Spice taught me these goals were set all along -- I just needed to find them.

I'd been very curious about it since the first time I read about it when I was about 12 years old. I'm not sure how I came across that information, but it planted a seed way down deep. I heard it mentioned just one time back in college. In my mid 20's I went traveling through Latin America and had some crazy cage fighter guy in Costa Rica mention it again.

Finally, in Peru I became very very ill for two weeks or so, to the point where I thought it was about 50/50 whether I would make it through or not. Seeking an alternative to western medicine, which is a last resort for me, I ended up instead in an ayahuasca ceremony with a local shaman. I'd heard about it before, but didn't know what it was, only that it was ancient medicine. I had no idea that it contained the spice at the time. During the ceremony I had a feeling that all the badness in my body sucked up my arms and my legs into my stomach, and then had a massive purge. It somehow cured me, or if not, then there was a mammoth placebo curing effect.

I did some research when I returned home and was quite surprised to find that my first spice experience was without my knowledge, though I'd been silently looking out for it for more than half of my life. Then I found the Nexus and the rest is beautiful history.
