I hope it passes. The sooner laws like that are made, the sooner the people revolt. Bring on the revolution!

that's a pretty dangerous assumption man. I mean i want a revolution to start and america to fall as much as the next guy but its pretty hard to revolt from a prison cell. I'd rather not sign over any more of my rights to those who are already eager to take them anyway. That's pretty scary vovin about obama having 20000 troops trained for civil disobedience. I would definitely agree that this is the next big step though in our evolution, and there isn't much the powers that be can do to stop it no matter how hard they try. As always i'm waiting for the mothershipThe Chr0nn01553ur said:I hope it passes. The sooner laws like that are made, the sooner the people revolt. Bring on the revolution!
I have no doubt that the US Gov't was killing people without fair trials before this bill was passed. I just meant that the judicial system (fucked up though it may be) was still being used for a lot of trials. It seems to me that this bill seeks to undermine the entire judicial system which in theory (definitely not reality) is a good thing about america.easyrider said:PrimateSphinx said:I'm pretty sure American citizens still had right to a "fair" trial before this bill was passed.
Anwar al-Awlaki was an American citizen killed by a CIA drone authorized by Obama's administration.

In the US for a bill to become a law it must be passed in both houses of congress and signed by the president. This was passed only in the senate.
The white house already said obama would veto the bill if it ever came to his desk. I don't think he is lying.

There's a difference between the yokels of the past and the yokels of modern day, though. The descendants of scalawags and carpetbaggers direct the mentality of Southerners now, save for an uncompromising minority. The GOP base consists of zombies brainwashed by chicken-hawks, sycophants, and special interest groups. The rebel spirit is dead, because somewhere along the way, being pro-government became synonymous with being patriotic. Surely, this doesn't mean that revolution is impossible; after all, only 1/3 of the population of the 13 colonies favored a revolution against King George III. It would be incredibly difficult, though, because of our advanced technocracy which would enable military police to squash the opposition.
