Migrated topic.

I think the conspiracy theory rule needs to be changed. This stuff needs to be discussed openly and freely.

Agreed. It's downright lame to ban subjects that are plainly visible all around us. Problem is, you say something halfway controversial and you have a hundred people here screaming to see the "proof" in some double-blind, peer-reviewed Scientific Journal of Absolute Fact.

my question is how do we take this info and not get overrun by fear?
fear affects nothing but yourself

also changes come....

Great answer.

As I've said in some other threads, I really feel that this is the kind of stuff that it is going to take to really wake everyone up. We've been divided for so long, once we get a common enemy, we'll be able to band together like nothing before.

And this time, we have technology so our history can never be stolen from us again.

Everything is right on track, right where it's supposed to be.

I apologize to anyone if I scared you with that stuff, but me personally, I'd rather know that this kinda stuff is about to happen so I can be mentally prepared for it.

We've got a long, hard road ahead of us but we can get through it as long as we stick together.

I love all of you guys and everything is going to be okay. But you must take action. Get involved. Do SOMETHING to help wake up your brothers, sisters, neighbors and REALLY be the change you wish to see in the world. Give yourself and your love freely. Help out. Give back. And let your voice be heard. We are free, sovereign individuals and this reign of terror will be over soon, just not soon enough.

Power to The People... Power to The Peaceful...

Solidarity ♥

Ron Paul's son amended it. No worries.

Wait, what? What does that mean?

Yeah, I'm pretty sure it passed. Rand made a noble effort to try and prevent it, but I'm almost certain we did just get officially fucked over. Its like every few months they try to pass some whack law that totally shits on the constitution, and they never get called out on it.

God damn i hate America sometimes.

at least it looks like sopa might not make it...

I think the average American is going to very surprised and shocked at how hard the hammer is going to come down from the government when a certain line is crossed and a real threat to the corporate power structure presents itself in some form.

I think the government is well rehearsed in quelling any kind of major dissent that could take place in the U.S..
I'm thinking its gonna be really ugly. They have been taking steps and continue to

Did Obama sign it? there was talk that he would veto this thing. Holy god damn, things are happening quickly. This is basically an all encompassing allowance to quell any type of dissent that presents a real threat. This is a great article about what we can do collectively to move towards a positive outcome: Occupy the Heart! | Reality Sandwich

There's ways around sopa, indefinite military detention I'm not so sure about. If we do make it through this rough patch, the politicians that voted for this shitstorm need to be tried for high treason. They violated the oath they took to uphold the constitution. And i would not accept military tribunals in that matter, even those who wish to deprive others of the basic protections our constitution provides, deserve to have those rights themselves. Irony of the highest magnitude.

I was relieved to see that both senators from my state and my local representative opposed the bills (S1867 in the senate, H.R. 1540 in the house). Still, the margins by which this passed are horrifying: 93% in the senate, 77% majority in the house. If/when the differences between the house and senate versions are reconciled and this goes to the president, he would have to do more than veto it: he would have to change people's minds. Either 44 representatives or 27 senators who initially supported this thing would have to oppose it to stop congress from overriding the veto.

Now would be a good time to contact your representatives.

Ii got a feeling the new laws troops being trained etc... is to deal with the aftermath of this:

Reporter just flips and toooootally spills the beans while the rest watch in shock

Positively the best video I have seen in a year!

Any word on when congress is set to vote on this thing or did they already? I've been out of the loop and haven't heard word of our impending doom lately.

Vovin, thank you for this link! This says it all right here and it's pretty much how I've felt for some time. I've going to send it to everyone I know.
