DMT 1-ethyl

Migrated topic.
Hello again , This time i have a question about a dmt containing plant and how well do you guys know of it.

Now i read it on a website - http://www.drugs-forum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=8680

And this is said.
-
-Mistletoe (Loranthaceae)

The berries contains 1-ethyltryptamine (an true isomer of DMT with a 1-ethyl rather than N,N-dimethyl. Alexander Shulgin "TIHKAL"1997.

I did a little reseach but didnt find mutch.

Another website - mistletoe - The Psychedelic Experience - Shroomery Message Board

Said that it contained 11% 5-meo-dmt content but from the first thing i read its ethyltryptamine .

My question is mostly if any1 has any more information on this ?

If not its cool , im sure i will or some one else might try this extracton.

But would the procedure be different since the chemical is a bit different (solubility)?

sorry if i dont type this up to theral the way i wanted to but im watching Be Cool at the moment and i dont get to use computer to often or watch tv to often ever since i moved so , my apologies.

Interesting find ! N-Ethyltryptamine - Wikipedia

N-Ethyltryptamine (NET), or merely ethyltryptamine, is a putative psychoactive drug of the tryptamine chemical class which may purportedly have psychedelic effects. It is closely related to N-methyltryptamine (NMT) and N,N-dimethyltryptamine (DMT), among various others. It occurs naturally in mistletoe berries.[1]

I will probably need a chemist to explain all this to me but ...

It says its colosly related and may have psychedelic effects , but it dosent say ....

fill the rest in , more information would be awsome , every1 should be curious.

If it is indeed psychoactive than that is quite interesting..as mistletoe was very sacred to the druids..growing around the oak tree..which was also very sacred..Oak literally means "door".

I found something on the psychoactivity of a related compound , alpha-ethyltryptamine

Alpha-ethyltryptamine

α-ET, also known as alpha-ethyltryptamine or AET, is a chemical belonging to the tryptamine family. It was explored as an anti-depressant by Upjohn Chemical Company under the name Monase, but was moved into US Schedule I list of illegal substances in 1993. It is structurally related to α-methyltryptamine but its pharmacological effects are very different. α-ET is not a hallucinogenic drug, its effects resemble more that of the Empathogen/Entactogens like MDMA (Ecstasy).

Alpha-ethyltryptamine - Dosage

75-150mg is commonly consumed orally for entactogenic effects. α-ET has a stereocenter and S-(+)-α-ET is the more active stereoisomer.

The berries can be collected in November and December .
I am sure this is worth some experiments , so lets see how much Magic those slimy Berries contain this winter.
Probably a candidate for the FASA Method .

I believe I have read that 1-ethyltryptamine is inactive. However, if it is active, and a worthwhile experience, that would be extremely interesting.

If its inactive , but still contained in a high percentage , maybe some Psilocybe Mushroom knows what to do about it

In the scientific literature the one position refers to the indole nitrogen. Not the ethyl-amine nitrogen. The compound in the above pictures is N-ethyl-tryptamine or mono-ethyltryptamine (MET) in shulgin's way of labeling. There is also the alpha-ethyltryptamine. This is on the ethyl bridge carbon closest to the amine Nitrogen. This compound has been used as an anti-depressant and is covered in TIHKAL. It is psychoactive and somewhat hallucinogenic at high doses. You could also have 2-ethyl-tryptamine. Shulgin made the methyl derivative (2-methyl-DMT) which is oraly active but not a classical hallucinogen at doses tested.

1-ethyl-tryptamine is unlikely to have HA properties.

I have no idea what is actually in mistle toe.
