Hi there, I'm new to the forum so I thought I'd say a few things first. I'm yet to try DMT but have been interested in it for some time, and the chance has passed my way and I intend to be doing it in the new year sometime as now isn't quite the 'right time'.
I've been very experimental with various substances over the years and have viewed them differently over time, initially it was all about a 'good buzz' when I first started trying things around 20 years or so ago. As I've got older (maybe wiser!) I look for a more spiritual journey and found pyschedelics the best way to achieve this. I've tried most of the things available to most (truffles, LSD, mushrooms, ketamine).Hhowever the most enlightening so far has been salvia divinorum. I had read up about it but the experience was truly mind blowing, other drugs I'd experienced out of body experiences, telepathy etc and all of sudden I found myself on an 'astral plane' and all its wonder (separate story needed).
DMT from what I hear will be another step up so I look forward to experiencing it. I am a string believer in the afterlife and the similarity with near death experiences and DMT reports sound very similar (aware of the release of DMT upon death).... so this long winded intro brings me to my question.
Do users think that the experience they get on DMT is 'real' I nthat you are actually taken to another 'dimension' or is it merely the effect of an incredibly potent psychedelic on the brain? I'd be interested to hear your thoughts as I have my own theories from my salvia experiences.

I'd consider that breaking through. Maybe our reality is another being's DMT trip!?
