DMT Acetate can you burn off the acetic acid?

SWIM has done the calcium hydroxide/d-Limonene/vinegar extraction to get DMT acetate and wants it to be more ready to smoke. He found that it burned too slow at first to have a good breakthrough experience(BE). What he did notice was that went it was burn a little (2-3 tokes in) it seemed to burn much faster enabling he to have the BE.

Looking into it he found the acetic acid has a flash point of 40c/104f and the DMT is 154.7c/310.4f. He is hypothesis that if he heated the DMT Acetate up in an oven to above 40c/104f it would vaporize the acetic acid leaving only the DMT. Does anyone have any thoughts on this? Has anyone done this?

It's worth a shot. Harmaline acetate will do just that and leave behind freebase harmaline.

Ok so, he tried 93.3c/200f for 20 mins on 750mg. It became crumbly and lost almost 300mg in weight (about 40%).
He used a toaster oven and at 10 mins in and at the end he cracked the door and huffed the air inside to see detect if the DMT was vaporizing. He said he felt no effect.
He tried smoked about 30mg to see how it was... Well it was active and tasted significantly worse.
He said one thing that was weird was it was almost all visuals (everything was dancing), very little body high because of this he thought at first it didn't work.

It is impossible to tell if what the composition actually is (no access to a lab), but the real test would be try the baked stuff again and compare it to the DMT acetate with about 40% more weight to see if the loss was worth it.

Acetic acid weighs 60.05 g/mol.
DMT acetate weighs 248.32 g/mol.
DMT weighs 188.27 g/mol (75.8% the weight of DMT acetate).

So when heating DMT acetate below the vaporization point of DMT, if it is converted to DMT without loss of DMT, it should lose about 25% of it’s weight. DMT acetate has more bodily effects and is less visual than freebase DMT.

DMT acetate tastes better than DMT. DMT is much stronger tasting and has more odor.

It sounds to me like the test worked, but some of the DMT was lost. Maybe the oven temperature is not accurate and some freebase DMT vaporized away?

Ok so, he tried 93.3c/200f for 20 mins on 750mg.

That's too hot. Once the DMT is freebased, it will start vaporizing a little at that temperature. It boils at 60-80 C. You want to use 55 C (131 F) instead to be safer, and probably for several hours. A food dehydrator would be best.

It's also possible that DMT acetate will eventually decompose on its own at room temperature, leaving behind freebase DMT. This happens with some acetates, so it might happen with DMT acetate too. Some acetates come apart at room temperature after just a few hours or days.

First off. Stupidly, SWIM never weighed starting weight, so, more accurate documentation can't be done (next time).

SWIM told me after one day in a fan circulated dehydrator at about 120-125f...
RESULTS:
Slightly crumbly. Smoke tasted like burning something he couldn't put his finger on (not plastic), but still a acetate taste. Much easier to smoke. About 50mg burned in 4 tokes. Visually the world came apart, little body sensations.

NEXT:
SWIM put spice a coffee grinder and went to powder (alittle cakey, but almost no stick). SWIM put the powdered spice in the dehydrator for 1 more day.


Sounds promising...

SWIM Results:
Starting with "dried" DMT acetate, the consistance of gummy/sticky fruit leather or gel.
Sliced up into smaller chunks and spread on a dish.
Put in a dehydrator at around 125f +/- 5 degrees, for 36 hours.
After 24hrs in the dehydrator, it was ground up in a coffee grinder until powder and spread back on dish for the next 12hrs.

Easier handling, no stickiness. Can be pressed into flat cakes, which, with little effort can be broken apart. Smoking is easier, but still take more tokes then he would have liked.

The dip in the hyperspace is sweet, intense visuals. Actually, pushed him farther he had ever experience.

Conclusion:
Without measuring before weight, an accurate result can't be produced. But, he is totally satisfied and would recommend doing it for anyone dealing with the woes of slow burning DMT acetate.

Will update accurate weight measurements at a later date when SWIM makes some more acetate.

Very ingenious though. SWIM has tried smoking plain DMT acetate. quite active, very harsh and vinegary.

Although SWIM isn't sure a good practical use of it yet.

Well, I guess the only thing to do is try it yourself. The few things that are good about this is...
1. totally food safe
2. makes powder that isn't hydroscopic
3. doesn't taste plasticly, has a nice citrius after taste

Bad things...
1. Burns slightly slow, but the difference from non-dried DMT acetate is 100x better. Swim said that with DMT acetate he couldn't have a breakthrough experience until he did this process on it.

Swim is planning to do this next time and work on refining it.
