DMT containing species in India

Looking for a local plant species that has decent DMT content. Going to make a trip to a couple nurseries next week to examine the plants and check for availability. However I'm only looking for legal plants, or ones that grow abundantly in the wilderness. I have, of course, done a lot of prior research but any input is appreciated here as there aren't as many people over here into this stuff and I'd love to be able to contribute to the community in terms of valuable information.

Babul, Shikakai, Irimed, Reed Canary Grass, Desmodium
These are among the few I've shortlisted as relatively easily available. However there isn't much info on these and their alkaloid content and extraction other than Desmodium and Reed Canary.
Any suggestions at all would be appreciated.

of the medicines you mentioned, Babul is possible but highly variable, Shikakai unlikely (contains nicotine), Irimed not known..most of these plants are not well known to modern science..Khadira maybe..
similarly canary grass and desmodium..there are very few or no known reports of people extracting these for alkaloids, it is more an area of frontier research for the adventurous..for acacias in india see this thread here

of 'native' in india, Acacia caesia is probably the most hopeful/likely of knowns, but not very abundant

it would be safer to stay at this stage with plants known to have been used in this fashion successfully and safely..
A. confusa is naturalized in Tamil Nadu, and has been introduced (maybe a long time ago?)

i am always very interested these medicines, and many things, of the land of india..and plan to look further into this in the future

Damn that's a long thread! Read a lot of that stuff. Great work on your part I must say.
I've found an place which names the product as Ribbon Grass. And indeed that is what it is called. However it does look a little different to me than in most other pictures of the species. Phalaris Arundinacea is the one I'm talking about btw. Check the pictures I have attached. They do look very much similar but the leaves hint at some minor difference?
And yes my bad i mentioned Shikakai in place of this other plant. I didn't even know Shikakai was rumored to have DMT. Just that it has nicotine, which i do not wsnt at all lol

I thought likewise but this source is supposed to be legitimate, so that's gotten me confused. It definitely doesn't have stripes so i had ruled it out initially. But I saw a few images on google of ribbon grass that looked like this? I didn't know there were such distinct variations. Nor do i know the name Ribbon grass being used for any other species
