DMT elevates Growth Hormone?

Migrated topic.

I have heard that DMT increases levels of Growth Hormone and wondered if anyone (or someone you have met) has had any experiences which suggests that this is true?
Perhaps DMT may have anti-aging propeties (which wouldn't be a bad thing would it?) :)

Thanks

Where'd you hear that, some mumbling dreadlocked whacko or a more reputable source? It mentions the same idea at the following site but gives no references for its bold claims: http://biologyofkundalini.com/article.php?story=TheCrystalPalace

Dimethyltryptamine dose dependently elevated blood pressure, heart rate, pupil diameter, and rectal temperature, in addition to elevating blood concentrations of beta-endorphin, corticotropin, cortisol, and prolactin. Growth hormone blood levels rose equally in response to all doses of DMT, and melatonin levels were unaffected.

I read somewhere that it stimulates a variety of hormones to be produced. I'm not sure, I might have read it in The Spirit Molecule when Strassman is describing the biochemical effects of DMT on the human organism. I think your levels of stress hormones, such as cortisol, and also beta-endorphin levels, also go up following DMT ingestion. This may explain the refreshing after glow DMT alone can produce.

The evidence for a rise in GH after use is pretty well established; under normal circumstances GH is released in a circadian rhythm with 6-12 'pulsed' releases every 24 hours.GH deficiency in adults is pretty rare- the pituitary gland needs to be diseased for this to occur and apart from causing vague malaise is pretty asymptomatic.Too much GH (usually due to pituitary tumours) is bad news-makes your hands and feet enlarge, gives your forehead a Neanderthal-type protruberance, spaces your teeth out, gives you high blood pressure, osteoporosis,a big heart (and I dont mean you become generous of spirit!) and diabetes and if the pituitary tumours big enough, it obliterates the outer halves of the visual fields in both eyes.

Makes you realise how health requires such finely balanced homeostasis and the amazing thing is how we often take our health for granted till its gone.

The miracle in our existence is reflected by the sublime nature of our wetware.
