DMT Immunity?

So yesterday I turned 2 people onto the wonders of hyperspace. Today one of them asked me for some more spice (re-xlized very white) so she could show her friend this marvelous journey. I gave her enough for what I though would be 2-3 solid journeys. However her friend smoked it and is claiming to have felt little. I have searched for possible reasons for this. I do not believe she is on any SSRIs or that type of medication.

I find this strange because a knife's point worth or even clearing the chamber of the pipe from someone else's hits will be enough for a tingly feeling and sense of euphoria in me.

Comments? Suggestions?

That's what I was thinking. Yesterday we were using my oil pipe, but today I think they just put it on top of a bowl (told them not to torch it but forgot to tell them to sandwich it between some bud)

I'm sure they were doing less than ideal smoking methods

Best to eliminate as many possible factors before talk of DMT immunity. Tell your friends to come on over to the Nexus and look around for info on efficient vaping/smoking.

I bet you will get better results by using a bong with sandwich method for freebase, changa in a bong or a GVG for both.

Yeah, it's not just a matter of not torching the spice...the flame shouldn't touch it at all. You should let them know if they wanna get some effects, to try taking some "resin hits" out of the bowl they smoked it out of and hold those hits in for as long as they can. I bet they'll get something....

Well, i smoke it through a pipe and the flame touches the dmt as well (course I use change and then some white xstals) and I always get strong effects. I would have to say, either they are not taking big enough hits, or not holding it in that long (no matter how strong your dose of dmt is, if you don't hold it in you won't feel much if anything).

Also, sandwiching is marvelous when using weed.

I tried smoking DMT a few times and nearly gave up because it produced very little effect on me or my friends. I was using the GVG. Turns out that thing is damn hard to use.. maybe it's a great thing if you are a pro at it, but I cannot stress enough the importance of being right there with a beginner and showing them exactly how it is done. I would never give it to someone to do without guidance, given my own difficult experience with it.

theres a learning curve with the GVG for sure, but once you get past that, its really incredible.. I noticed people arent patient because they are used to smoking things, and it takes a few seconds of even-heating to get an ideal vapor density.. I think trying first with weed can help one getting used to the "lag" between heating and the vapor. Also a torch lighter is much better than a normal lighter for that.

My trick, as I said a few times, is to first have the torch lighter blue flame go inside the bowl for the first second or two, and as soon as any vapor starts forming, move the lighter further away so that it is a few cms above the bowl and the ceramic heater is not (or just barely) glowing red. If one keeps the flame all the time, at some point it will get too hot and one will cough or not be able to inhale more.

Also one should inhale slowly, with the full lungs, so that the whole thing takes quite a few seconds, maybe 15, the first 5 or so you basically dont feel anything.

Endlessness, not to take away from what you said there, but this description was perfect, reading this showed me exactly how to use the GVG with no fail everytime, this should be part of the sticky in the GVG thread.

Personally I make like this: Start the lighter farther away from the bowl. I empty all my lungs, and start inhaling very slowly as I approach the lighter, so that the tip of the blue flame is inside the bowl and the ceramic filter starts to glow red (though not too much). Then as soon as I see the first signs of any vapour (basically a second or two), I already move the lighter farther away so that the tip of the blue flame is a few (maybe 2?) centimeters above the bowl (but still directed towards the center of course). I keep pulling with my full lungs and the lighter still on till the last maybe 3-4 seconds where I turn off the lighter and just inhale whatever vapor is already inside the GVG

Its good to give such a detailed description, its not over complictaed imo, as this is such a delicate powerful thing the technique of ingestion should be as precise as possible

I gave a gram of changa to a friend once (after smoking with him many times, and he is something of an experienced Iboga lord) and he smoked it all... at once... and didn't breakthrough... because he didn't smoke it properly. I was like *smashes head against wall* NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

I'm immune to DMT, as far as I can tell. I vaporized it with a few of my friends who are experienced users of it and, myself being a huge fan of lsd and shrooms, I decided to partake. They made me hit it and hold it in for as long as I could, but I got very mild effects like enhanced colors and some dizziness, but nothing near what they were talking about seeing and experiencing from similar doses. They didn't believe me and thought that I must have done it wrong and so they supervised another hit with the same results, although the effects were less noticeable the second time around. Still not buying it, they then loaded me a bowl which they assured me was capable of sending anybody into the deepest reaches of space, and although I held it in until I couldn't take it and despite everyone watching in awe of the hit that I took, I just exhaled and continued to talk to them about how it wasn't working on me. The last time they told me to go into my room with the lights out and to lie down as soon as I took the hit. I did so, but again nothing happened.

Now this was about three years ago, and in the time since I've come up with a theory, which is that because I was born through a C-section, my skull wasn't compressed by my mom's junk (shudder), so my pineal gland wouldn't have been crushed or whatevs and so dmt wouldn't have been released in the same quantity as it is in babies who are born vaginally.

It might be hard to prove this, though, considering that it is still possible to activate your pineal gland via c-section. Also, I was one of the big vertical c-sections with the really noticeable scars on my mom's stomach, not the low-visibility incisions they perform nowadays.

So, any chance these other people who are claiming to be immune were c-sections? I'd be really curious to find out.

When I started reading this thread, I was surprised gammagore had responded, and then I noticed that I had too and it was from January '11 lol. Anyway, I doubt your "immunity" is a result of c-section vs. natural birth. After all, even if there is any validity to that c-section theory, it would only apply to endogenous DMT production as in the case of vaporization, you're providing all the DMT yourself. This isn't even to get into the whole idea that the pineal probably isn't producing the DMT anyway, but I digress.

Some people simply have lower sensitivities than others. My twin and I were both born the same way, yet I'm incredibly more sensitive and require significantly less than he does. I've also noticed that people's sensitivity to it tends to develop over time, so if you're a hard head now, after 20 sessions or so, you might not be. As my journeys have progressed, my dose size has dropped because I need less and less to get further and further.

When you're holding in your hit, you should be holding it in sufficiently long enough that when you go to exhale, you don't see any smoke/vapor at all. You shouldn't see white anything. It should be invisible. Often when I go to exhale, I'll release a mini exhalation so if I still see any white popping out of my mouth, I'll hold it in longer. Additionally, when you're inhaling the smoke/vapor, make sure to chase it with a swift bit of oxygen at the end to make sure that you've got all the DMT in your lungs, and you're not wasting any by having it in your mouth or trachea and never getting to the lungs to be absorbed. You're using a bowl, but how do you have it set up? i.e. Are you using screens? an ash bed? an herb bed? a copper mesh? What kind of lighter are you using for what kind of bowl, and what size dose is being loaded up? I ask these questions because if there's something wrong with your process, hopefully we can find it. Finally, if one hit's not doing it for you, maybe you need two or three.
