Why did nature put DMT in plants?

maybe to kill insects, among other things. Tryptamines dont just serve one perpose amongs all life..

For the same reason that certain plants/fungi such as ganjha, mushrooms, and cacti contain active (or psychoactive) compounds: because nature is muthaf---ing awesome!

Maybe to protect themselves from animals.Alkaloids kills animals. Who knows.
