DMT not working for me anymore

I rarely use other subs at the moment, and was smoking on average of 1 - 2 - 3 Trips a week. A buddy of mine actually just had something strange happen, he saw a crystal with blood dripping into a bowl on 40mg and when he came down he noticed his nose was bleeding... Could this be from an increase in blood pressure?

Reading this shocked me to the core.... :shock: has anyone else experienced this? The only problem I've had with DMT is when I over use it or binge (like 10-15 times a day) for a few days straight... when I do this I develop headaches and pressure in the head (although the pressure bit doesn't hurt it still slightly bothers me) and have since learnt to pace myself with this precious molecule. Something like what happened to your friend would totally turn me away from using DMT though.

Could the headaches and other problems be caused by solvent traces or impurities? I always redissolve the spice in acetone to get rid of solvent traces and I have no headache issues.

Could be... I use q21q21 tek 2 for fluffly pure white crystals... i mean white white... i make sure the solvent is completely evaporated before transferring the DMT to a vial which I let dry out even a little bit further. I must say my last binge I didn't get the headaches... the first extraction I ever did and the subsequent binge afterwards was the time in which I encountered the headaches.

I must also note I don't binge anymore either... lol.

@tele If I come across headache problems again I will use your acetone method to purify the spice... although I'm pretty sure my DMT is clean as a whistle. :thumb_up:

Ok, im writing this so that it may perhaps help somebody. I am not saying what you shoud do or not, i am just saying whats his exp. For practical reasons i am going to write the report in first person.
After about 4 years of reagular dmt usage dmt has stop working for me, i needet to take 4 massive toaks for a mild lvl 1 trip, after my loungs wore exoustet. i have always used the maschine.
So hire its what happend... i mixt dmt often with sinthetic drugs. one day after having profound exp. on dmt something has said to me that this shoud not be disrespectet. i knew what it ment... it ment that its disrespectful using it the i was usin g it(on partys with sinthetics). As a sceptic that i was i ignored the statment that was given to me.

As a dmt lover you can imagen my frustration, fear and despear after numerus trys over 6 -8 months or so. i was despret. I once askt a dmt aktivist about it and he suggsestet that it mhite be me not the drug. And so a prayed humbily numerus times while traying on changa, and mostly dhuring ayahuasca. after some tuime during ayahuasca i got a compulsion that i shud try some changa(i have tryd that before with little succses) and whoyla! it was a beutiful exp. i was so greatfull. i woud like to note, that i have stop mixing sinthetic and natural psyhadelics, acculy i have distence myself from sinthetics as a whole.
from that time on i still had to sume up the courage to try dmt alone)without ayahuasca) becouse i feard it might not work. But after a few weaks i tryed and it works frome that time on so happy about it.
It was a valuble lesson abot respect for me... and humility.

I have a theory that no one seems to like. We aren't meant to hallucinate. We produce it endogenously and it makes us dream because we have deprived ourselves of all the things that put it into our bloodstream.

I have this same relationship with mushrooms. I dont trip anymore, even on massive doses. I just get sick after a couple hours, pissing out a shitload of actives while still digesting more. I get little windows into the psychedelic, but there is no longer a pronounced effect. Colors dont shift (although more vibrant) and walls don't breathe. And you know what? I dont miss it all that much. The benefit I get now is far more practical. My dose is between 5 and 10g depending on the strength, and then I just go on a walk(about)

Trees still have that fractal uniqueness, but mainly I'm just walking to maintain my focus, as sitting still creates an exponential effect of where my mind goes. Being still it creates jumbles and weird associations.

Interestingly, on my last trip I tried the McKenna method of lying in a dark room and being as still as possible. I was surprised by how intense 4g was. The devil tried to talk to me, a pretty jarring experience for an atheist. It felt like touching evil incarnate.

Havent figured out what the source of that experience was, so I havent gone back yet, but my mind has always been kinda dark.

But I digress.

Leary said turn on, tune in, drop out. Watts said once you got the message you can hang up the phone. I think there is a lot of merit to that.

Because, lets remove the mystic for a moment. We're talking about dumping chemicals into our brains. We don't fully understand the mechanisms at play here, but we do know how versatile and adaptive the brain is. Your brain is always trying to get back to level. It wants to return to nominal function. And like when you finally figure out an optical illusion, you can't unsee it. Similarly, your brain begins to recognize these chemicals and figures out what to do with them. Instead of having a series of discombobulated hallucinations, its routing chemicals to other places. Your visual cortex begins to differentiate and discriminate false signals.

In this sense, I wonder if Acid just sucks now, or of I've developed a permanent tolerance

if anyone dislikes your theory, perhaps it’s because that conjecture lacks evidence to substantiate the claims of 1) causation of dreams, and 2) mitigation of central effects percieved while under the influence of hallucinogens.

1) dreams (REM sleep) is initiated by acetylcholine, which is also associated with memory, not tryptamines.
2) The mitigation is called downregulation, it occurs when receptors have been excessively stimulated; decreased sensitivity to the stimulus is the natural response.

while we don’t fully understand why hallucinations occur, or why/how we evolved filters to block extraneous stimuli, we do have a good fundamental understanding of how metabolism works, and how that affects pharmacology.

Shure, but i don't recomend it. As i have felt the come up of dmt i have containt the feeling inside my head/ body, but mostly my head. I did that just once, i will definitly not repeat that, i value he spirit mulecule too much

the color is not necessarily related to the potency of dmt.
also, depending on the reasons for dmt not working just a break from dmt might not be enough.
you will want to look into your lifestyle and other drug habits.

Not sure what if it could be a tolerance or incorrect administration method but I have had experiences before, including breakthroughs. Just recently I cant seem to go anywere. I've tried with changa and fb in various tools. I measure doses ~30mg resulting in only a mild temporary head buzz. Any insight will be much appreciated.

Did this problem ever change for you and you found that dmt started working again for you ??

I myself have come across this problem. Smoking dmt seems to just not work anymore, Even when using proper smoking technique and taking a long break. It's quite vexing tbh because although I've had some experience with Dmt, I felt like i had a lot more to see and experience.

For some reason I'm doubting the quality of my bark, Yet to my knowledge the bark is the same kind I've used before and had great results with.

I'm not really getting xtals with my yields but goo, But apparently goo is supposed to be amazing after it's dried properly.

I'm gonna try making changa and see if it makes any difference.

I just wanted to mention that it is possible in my personal exp to have your own mind decide you dont need DMT right now, because of guilt, perceived needed change in your life or intentions set you deem needed either consciously or subconsciously. You mention the use of other synthetics and feeling as though you disrespected the drug. If you take DMT with that in mind you may have your trip try and facilitate a cure. The cure being lack of a trip being the actual trip until the issue is corrected. I have also had trips just repeated to me until I did what I needed to do. It was as if my conscious mind made a deal with my sub and nobody told me. Sometimes I was told. "Stop XYZ or i'll just replay this stale old trip every time." and testing this it was true.

I also had a trips where I took a large breakthrough dose in my bedroom and nothing happened ( or so I thought) for what seemed like 20 minutes. I sat in my room a bit confused feeling my blankets, tapping on things yup everything is real. The only thing I later noticed is I kept checking a watch that did not exist and the music I had put on was muted. At the 20 min according to my imaginary watch, I decided to forget it. Suddenly the music came on my eyes were oddly pinned open and crystal chariots and singing... angels came floating down through the ceiling and put on a short performance for me and then boom i heard a zap and the words "one year" were screamed in my ear. I suddenly remembered I had done this all before. Checking my notes I had sent trip reports to my bff, one year to the day prior with the same album on and I had done this exactly before, completely forgot it. To me having no trip as a trip, is very possible...
