DMT what is happening?

I understand that exact info of what is going on in the brain is still a mystery but as far as the DMT entry into my brain how is that happening. Is it just entering through same receptors as serotonin since it is so chemically similar?

Yes, as far as I know DMT is binding to all the serotonin receptors, and replacing them with DMT. Serotonin plays a big role in mood, behavior, appetite, metabolism, sleep, etc. I think when serotonin is taken away it must have an effect on the DMT experience. I think since a bunch of these neurotransmitters as well as psychedelic drug molecules are so similar, they are the cause of what we view as reality. When the brain is affected by the addition or removal of certain molecules or substances, our reality is altered. Like Dr. Rick Strassman said in his book, when DMT affects the brain you are tuning into a different channel. We are all viewing the same channel in this reality, until it is changed, by the use of substances that affect our brain. There are still a lot of unanswered questions about the mind, brain, and DMT. We really need to have scientists study extensively on this subject and start doing some experiments, not only on the experience factor.
