I used to love to get stoned often in my teens, but as I grew older I lost interest in gunja. Now being in my 30ties I smoke it very rarely. I carefully chose when, where and with whom I would get stoned to insure positive experience. In last five years I've got stoned less than dozen times and to be honest those were not the nights to remember. On the other hand those few cactus, shrooms or dmt nights I remember very well.
I respect all entheogenic plants, but gunja is not for me anymore. Makes me feel fragile,stupid and paranoid quite often which was not the case 10 years ago. It's all good, life is a change thank god.

I think the relatively recent advances in cannabis cultivation, have actually runied the plant. These days, I will smoke naturally (outdoor) grown thai or jamaican weed, that has seeds and is relativey mild. I will also smoke hash. However, the super-strength skunk that seems to be the smoke of choice these days, that has been grown inside, under lights, forcing maximum THC from the poor plant, seems to not have the right 'balance' for me. It traps me in stupid thoughts, that go round and round in my head, and makes me completely lazy and useless. This must be down to an 'off-kilter' chemichal profile. The natural stuff feels right, the super forced stuff does not. I can still function on Thai or hash, but I cant even read a book on super-skunk (a bit counter-prodcutive considering Im in my final year of a degree )

So yea, I am past smoking stinky super-buds, yet the naturally grown stuff, and hash, I will still use from time to time (especially after a hard days studying ). This way of thinking is common in people I know, the super-stuff seems to confuse and debilitate many people.

me too!!!

i smoked cannabis daily for about 15 years. i used it as a crutch and didn´t realize it until i became really depressive. because of my irresponsible cannabis consum i didn ´t realize that i was on a completely wrong way in my life. i was very unhappy with my job, the realitionship to my grilfried etc but i smoked it unconsciously away every day until i crashed.

i only remenber this period of time as every day same shit. by and by it was imspossible to watch a movie and follow the stroyline because of the disturbed short-time mem, i was too lazy to go outside and attend life, so i became depressive for several years. it took a long time to disrupt that catch-22!!!

Weed has allowed me to discover a passion for music and artistic expression, to overcome mental barriers of fear and insecurity, and to become more aware of how I treat the people around me and myself.

But it has only been a help and a crutch. I feel that the time is approaching when I'll be wanting to do away with it, and evolve without experiencing the negative effects it also possesses.

Though it really does make that Mahler symph sound like porn to my eardrums! :lol:

I would just like to say that I take back some things I said. I was foolish to think that smoking would lead to zero health problems if you can keep your spiritual integrity at 100%.. While the idea has some validity and I don't think smoking is that bad, even after years, I definitely see now how mostly everyone else's points were equally valid, and I'm sorry I acted like a huge doucher.. I didn't really mean to come off that way. Smoking anything causes health problems. I've come to terms with that now.

I am of the firm belief though that if everyone ate edibles and smoked out of volcanoes, that everyone would be able to enjoy weed with minimal to zero health problems or mental side effects.

I also think that if life wasn't revolved around work, and weed was free along with clothes food etc as I've said before, that life would be more fulfilling in an almost infinite number of ways. In my opinion, in such a world people wouldn't be smoking their life away turning themselves into unmotivated couch potatoes because you wouldn't need to escape so much, wouldn't need to relax after your job, or forget about this or that. There would be other things in life to go do that even the most heavy stoner would find his consumption slowing down in light of the lifestyle that this new world would have to offer, with all of it's experiences, activities, and places to travel now available to everyone.

Anyway, how half-baked did that last paragraph sound? :lol:
