Does the Naptha need to turn yellow?

SWIM follows Nomans Tek but after adding the Naptha and rolling the jar around repeatedly, the Naptha is clear. Swim even let the MHRB/Lye/Water solution sit for 3 hours before adding Naptha. swim knows the MHRB powder is good because he has done other extractions with it. Has this same problem every time. What he ends up doing is doing hot water baths and waiting till the next day.

So the big question is whether there is spice in the clear Naptha?

Yellow is evidence of plant oils. Not evidence of DMT.

If the solvent is saturated with DMT then there is no space for oils so the clearest puls can be the best

Only one way to find out thought!

Not so sure about the NP being to saturated with spice for it to hold plant oils. He tells me that when he waits till the next day and starts giving hot water baths, the NP goes slowly from clear to piss yellow. He is all for theidea of clear NP holding spice but has never tried freeze precip on it till its yellow.

Hot water bath will allow more 'stuff' to be pulled, often that more stuff results in yellow color. I found quickly that I could get some very clean first pulls with a clear layer of naptha.

So no, the naptha does not need to turn yellow.

by the time swim got around to pulling the NP, it had turned a light yellow. The yield was 1.08%. thats .649g out of 60g mhrb. Is that high?

working on a second pull as I speak.

That's a great yield for 1 pull.

it came out well but not pure white. its more of a very light tan/yellow so i imagine some of the weight is due to other alks.
